Chapter 6: Fusion

'I should slow down. I might remove this thing from existence if I am not careful'

The foggy figure didn't want to destroy something interesting, that he discovered just a moment ago.

For some reason, he thought that this thing might help him find a way to destroy all of the black holes.

It's detailed structure impressed him a lot.

But there was still a problem.

He was too big. The energy contained within him could destroy that thing in seconds. He should find a way to decrease his size even more.

'Alright, let's connect to the sphere'

Somewhere, outside of the multiverse, there was a 'storage sphere'. If one could see the flow of the multiversal energy they would notice a thin thread that connected a certain foggy figure and a giant sphere of energy.

The energy supplied by the foggy figure was really unimpressive compared to the energy stored in the 'storage sphere'. But that unimpressive amount could be compared to 10 nuclear bombs.

Now the figure was as small as a yacht. He also became dim. As dim as one of those lamps from a film studio.

[10 minutes before the 'collision']

Kim: "WE ARE GONNA DIEEEEEEEE!!!!!"

Ivan: "SHUT THE HELL UP!!! Instead of panicking you should be thinking of how to get out of this situation!"

Kim: "WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIEEEEEEE!!!!!"

Ivan: "F***ing rich boy! HEY JOHN, do you have a plan?!"

John: "...."

Ivan: "JOHN!!!!!!"

John: " Huh? Oh, yeah. We don't have enough time to safely evade this asteroid"

Ivan: "WELL SH*T, is there an UNSAFE way to evade this freaking thing?!"

John: "There are two. First, we could overload our engines to move the station to the side, out of the asteroids way. But even if we evade that asteroid we still have a ton of problems. First the overheated engines could create an explosion that will damage the station, second, "

Before John could calmly finish his explanation Ivan screamed into his face.

Ivan: " I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT!!!!! WHAT'S THE SECOND WAY?!!"

John: "Well, we could directly 'dive' under the asteroid without overheating our engines and changing our orbit too much. But there is a high chance of flying directly into the asteroid before it ev..."

Ivan: "GREAT!! JUST F***ING GREAT!!!"

Kim: " WE ARE GONNA DIEEEEE!!!!"

John: "Wait, I think, it's slowed down"

Ivan: "Really?!"

John: "yeah, but it's not enough to safely evade it. So, we should choose either option one or two. Let's vote. I vote for plan 2. Kim?"

Kim: "AAAAAHHHHHHHH, WE ARE GONNA DIE!!!"

John: "okay, Ivan?"

Ivan: "Suffocate like a b***h or be killed by an asteroid. I choose plan 2"

John: "Alright, go to the control room and put the engine power at approximately 75%"

Ivan: "Okay"

John: "Kim, you should go and send a distress signal towards Earth."

Kim: "WE WILL ALL DIE! WE HAVE NO CHANCE FOR SURVIVAL!"

John: "Fine, I'll do it myself"

The three crew members didn't notice that the 'asteroid' was becoming smaller and smaller. They were too stressed out by the coming 'danger' and imminent threat.

[Space]

'This form is really unstable. It's so hard to keep this little energy together.'

The foggy figure didn't like his current size. It was really hard to control and it felt really weakening. But what does an existence that never felt fear has to lose?

'I should find a vessel'

While searching for a vessel, the figure noticed that the object that he was interested in changed it's general direction.

'Hehehe, so I was right. This thing IS different. I should probably use it as a vessel'

The foggy figure changed his trajectory after noticing a sudden change in space station's movements.

When he arrived close to the 'interesting object', he noticed that there was a figure inside. He analysed it and came to the conclusion that it was a perfect vessel.

The foggy figure enveloped the body and fused with it.

[John's point of view]

[A 5 minutes before the collision]

After sending a distress signal towards NASA I went to check out on Ivan to make sure there were no problems with the engines. What I discovered scared me.

Me: Ivan, what are you doing?!

Ivan: ~Ooohhhh, itsa John.~ *Hick* ~Com er, com er. U should jgoin me.~ *Hick* ~Here have a sip.~

Ivan put a cup on a table in front of me. In his hands, there was a bottle with a transparent liquid that looked like water. But, on the cover, you could see some russian latters that spelled the name of the 'beverage'.

John: Why are you drinking at this critical moment?! Did you do what I told you to?!

Ivan: ~Yep, itsa all done.....*Hick*~

John: *Sigh* jesus. You scared me there.

Ivan: But we are still going to die.

Ivan's voice suddenly became sober and full of despair.

Ivan: Look outside.

A chill ran down my spine. I take a look outside and notice that we are going slower and at a different angle. I check on the asteroid.

Then my hearth sinks. I get on my knees and look closer at the incoming threat.

The fricking thing didn't go in the predicted direction! 'Did we miscalculate?' 'Would we be fine if we just stayed on our previous course?'

None of that matters anymore.

'Well, this is it. I worked so hard to get here. Every single day, I studied and worked, studied and worked. And now, my passion brought me to the death's door.'

-A slight pause between thoughts-

'WORLD!!!! AM I A F***ING JOKE TO YOU?!!! I GIVE AND GIVE AND GIVE AND GIVE. AND HOW DOES THE WORLD REPAY ME FOR MY HARD WORK?!!! WITH A DAMN ASTEROID!!!'

I start crying. Years of my hard work will end here. The death is imminent. No plan, no chance of survival, no way out.

'I swear.....if....I survive this.....I....I will...live to my heart's content'

When this thought flashed in my mind I suddenly felt cold and weak. But then I was covered in white light and immediately felt unconscious.
