1 Genesis
Hundreds of years have passed since the times of Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, son of Princess Kaguya Ōtsutsuki and twin brother to Hamura Ōtsutsuki.
Blessed with the power of chakra derived from the God Tree, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki ate the fruit the God Tree bore, and became the first person in Earth's history to wield chakra. With her new-found power, she ended all the wars that plagued the lands.
Over time she was beloved by the people and was seen as a goddess among mortals. She eventually fell in love and bore two sons who carried her lineage along with chakra.
Hagoromo in his ignorance spread chakra to others through a practice called ninshū, intending to create peace by using the chakra to connect people's spiritual energy so that they would understand one another without even talking. However, the people did not use chakra in the way Hagoromo hoped, instead using it to connect their inner spiritual and physical energies. They kneaded their inner chakra to amplify and weaponise it, creating what is now known as ninjutsu.
Humanity discovering new ways to wage war descended into its bloodiest era, a once prosperous land filled with life became scared. Man filled with greed, discarding all consciousness murdered and pillaged, women forced into labour and children forced into battles. Kaguya watching what has become of the peace she forged crumble, because of her sons became enraged! She merged with the God Tree becoming the 10 Tails and planned to take back the very energy they used to destroy one another, but her sons seeing this acted against her. Addicted to the powers they have they fought for 7 days and 7 nights, finally the brothers emerged victorious against their mother.
Hagoromo stripper his mother of her powers and sealed it within himself, becoming its jinchūriki, causing him to be revered as a god. However, as time passed he became weaker, in a bid to prevent the 10 Tails freedom and subsequent release of his mother, Hagoromo separated the Ten-Tails' chakra within his body and used his Creation of All Things Technique to divide it into nine separated bodies, creating the tailed beasts and giving each a name.
One Tailed Shukaku, Two Tailed Matatabi, Three Tailed Isobu, Four Tailed Son Gokū, Five Tailed Kokuō, Sixth Tailed Saiken, Seven Tailed Chōmei, Eighth Tailed Gyūki and finally the Ninth Tailed Kurama.
As the centuries progressed, the Shinigami, keeper of the afterlife grew tired of the constant violence, searched for a solution. Looking through the void she saw worlds unlike the present earth, worlds of magic and mystery, immortal worlds where beings such as herself were commonplace; worlds where individuals are ignorant of the supernatural and see them as mare works of fiction.
Through her searching she came upon an individual, choosing to observe said individual as he who lived a moderate life. One full of happiness and love yet with trials and tribulations in which he paved through to become a strong and just man. He understood the realities of life but stayed true to his virtues. The Shinigami intrigued by the man watched and analysed him, as a possible champion to end the era of violence.
Content with what she saw, she waited till the time of his last breaths. Surrounded by his closest kin in the comfort of their presence, he departed in expectations of eternal rest. However this was not to be.
