1 Secrets in the Dark

"In other news a meteorite was spotted last night approximately nine o'clock in the evening, eyewitness reports that strange events had happened when the meteorite appeared, we are now confirming the validity of these report..."

It was morning when Zhu Mo heard the report on his television at home. Never did he expect that because of that report everything in his life will start to change either for the better or for worse.

After having completed his routine of bathing, cooking, eating breakfast and preparing to leave for work as an average joe, life seems quite dull for Zhu Mo.

Waking up, going to work, then finally going home, life has become boring for him especially that his single, with no relatives whatsoever. Working as a Psychologist had also taken a toll on him.

Handling people who has problems mentally can be quite taxing. The pressure of the work drained him a lot. Helping individuals who are depressed, who has a unconventional quirks and those people who are downright crazy and mad can affect a persons character.

He seemed to haved aged much faster with his whole hair turning white even though he's still at his 20s, his physique is quite weak, he's temperament has downright turned gloomy and depressing, but still having a strong mentality helped him through the day.

That day was supposed to be like any other day when suddenly while driving to work something happened. Cars in front of him suddenly stopped and people at the front were suddenly running to his direction. When he saw those peoples faces he saw panic and most of all fear.

Maybe due to him having a strong mentality and maybe also curiosity he went out of the car and went to where crowd came from. After walking and dodging the crowd he saw something that he will never forget his entire life. Somehow the space in from of him is having large cracks and those cracks are also slowly expanding. The cars that were struck by those cracks suddenly becomes deformed. The cars started to twist in weird angles until finally crumbling into tiny bits and pieces.

What's worse however when those cracks reach a live person. He saw a man who has his legged twisted in a weird angle due to the stampede became crushed by the cracking space. His blood that was supposed to splatter somehow collected itself and started to spin until a large circle outline made of blood was formed.

The other bloods that was previously collected slowly flowed to the circle outlined and combined with it. When Zhu Mo saw this happening instead of being gripped with fear he was instead calm but most of all fascinated by what he had seen.

For the first time in his entire life something different has finally happened, even though it's bad at least for him it's something new which finally gave breadth of new life within him. To be safe he backed of a few meters away from the space crack and after ensuring his safety and making sure of his escape path he continued to observe the crack

A few minutes had passed after te space crack stopped expanding when suddenly it shattered. Somehow the blood outline prevented the crack from totally collapsing and helped it stabilized the space within it. After the space stabilized a portal finally formed.

Zhu Mo did not noticed though that he was being observed by some people.

"Captain a live civilian was detected in the area"

"Try to detain him and take him away from the danger zone. We'll handle him after we finish this mess"

"Yes Captain"

After the soldier went away one of his subordinates went to him and said

"Captain look at that guy again don't you think he's quite odd?"

After his subordinate told that he was also intrigued by the man and observed him carefully this time.

"Hmmm now you've said it he's quite peculiar but nevertheless that civilians in the danger zone and we must take him away first we can just assess him later"

"If you say so captain"

"Everyone take your positions! We must close this portal at any cost so no bullshiting around or I'll kill you myself!"

"Yes Captain!"

But before the troops could take their positions something suddenly happened. The portal suddenly became unstable, cracks had started to form within it and in an eye blink it suddenly exploded.

Because no one was near at the portal, Zhu Mo and the Captains troops only sustained some minor injuries due to the blast wave and debris.

The troops we're in a state of confusion after that.

"Captain! What happened? Why did the hole just collapsed on it's own?!"

Asked one of his lieutenants at the comms.

"The portal became unstable that's why it exploded, in some cases we also encountered this kind of event but everything resulted into a big disaster in all those cases."

The Captain answered with a bit of dread.

"What do you mean something bad captain?!"

"What I mean as bad means something really bad so stop asking me questions and everyone stay alert! I'll explain it to you boys after everything's over"

"Yes Captain!"

Due to their training the soldiers stopped asking questions but fear of the unknown started to grow in their minds and hearts as time slowly passed by.

When the explosion happened Zhu Mo was already at a safe distance away so he did not suffer any damage but before he could even sigh in relief he was suddenly immobilized by a man wearing a soldier looking outfit.

"Sir please come with me this are isn't safe"

The soldier might have sounded concerned when he stated those words but hidden in those words a was a vague aura of a threat so for he's safety he just complied and followed the soldier.

After a few moments however he suddenly heard a scream when he looked at his soldier companion he saw him being drench in blood and that something was protruding from his stomach after that gunfire ensued.

A few moments earlier before the soldier was stabbed the captain and his troop were scanning the area for any hostile entity when they suddenly heard a scream in their comms. When they finally found who was attacked they saw something quite bizarre.

A hand was protruding from the soldiers stomach. The hand was not any ordinary hand which was made with skin and bones but a hand that was composed of concrete and metal parts. The creature who owned that hand had a human like body which was composed of car parts, concretes and steel while it's head composed of two skulls with one eyeball.

"What the hell are you standing still for shoot the damn thing!"

The captain shouted when he saw his troops doing nothing. When they heard their captain they woke up from their stupor and started to shoot the damn beast.

They slowly realized however that it was all for naught. The human like monster has a monstrous regenerative ability. Every time they tried to shoot it the concrete body just keeps regenerating by absorbing the concretes in its surroundings. Despair and hopelessness slowly crept to them when suddenly they saw a monk come into the site.

"Amitabha! Such evil will be destroyed by Buddha!"

They heard the monk said. Before they could react they heard the captain suddenly issued a command.

"Protect the monk i just received an order that the government sent him to help us defeat this hell spawn!"

When they heard it the order they were all flabbergasted. The higher-ups sent them a monk to defeat this monster? What is that monk gonna do? Chant for our dead bodies?

But before they could react to their captains order they saw the monk suddenly threw 108 small beads. When the beads landed in front of the humanoid monster the beads suddenly shined a strong bright rays of light.

The small beads suddenly surrounded the humanoid monster while the bright lights suddenly formed interconnecting chains that immobilized the monster.

"BE PURIFIED BY BUDDHAS LIGHT!"

When the monk shouted those words the heavens suddenly bright up and suddenly struck the monster from above with holy light.

"Impossible! How could it be still alive!"

When the soldiers thought that everything was finally over they heard the surprised sound of the monk. When they looked at the location of the monster they saw it still moving albeit with difficulty.
