Chapter 7

I wake up 12 hours later, which means I still have 18 or so hours left until the next mission starts. I sit up while checking out my status.

My stats are a lot better than the first day, which is nice. That 1/10 beside the Sword Mastery skill is probably the level, which means level 1 out of 10. So I need to get to level 10 for it to be max, that would probably be hard. I don't even know how to get skill points yet.

Lets see what this skill changes, shall we? I pick up my sword and walk to the training dummy and face my sword to it. I could instantly feel the difference when I concentrated. When I was using the sword before, although I could attack vital points, that is because of my vision.

Now, I can feel the vital points. Although it is just a training dummy, it looks like a human body, which helps. I can where I should attack each time, rather than when I was attacking wherever was convenient before.

This change actually caused me to smile heavily, since this will increase my strength with a sword by an entire fold. If I fought that monster king with my stats the same as before but with this skill, I could probably kill it within 10 moves. That is a lot better considering I took 30 plus moves before.

And this is only level 1 of the skill! Imagine if it was at level 10! Just imagining it causes me to shiver in excitement! I train for the next 10 hours so I can get used to this skill, and when I got completely used to it, a screen popped up.

[You have proficiently used the Sword Mastery Skill. It has increased by one level.]

Looking at that screen, I was honestly surprised for a while, before I brought up my status again.

Damn! It actually increased to the second level. I am so damn tired right now, so I won't even bother figuring out what it does. I put my sword down leaning against the wall and take off all of my armor. I also take off all of my clothes and turn the bath on.

I relax my sore muscles in the bath for 7 hours, leaving an hour left until the next mission. I get out of the bath, dry myself off, dress myself with my clothes and armor, put my dagger back in their pockets, and put my sword back on the belt.

I simply sit down on my bed for the next hour, and eventually the white light shines on me and teleports me somewhere. I open my eyes, and I am once again in that massive room. There are once again a thousand people here, so it is like I thought. The screen just brings new people who completed their first mission to here.

[Hello~ I am here once again~ Now then. Those of you who just finished their first mission, you are in luck! You are with a group of tutorial veterans now! There is a total of 1000 people here! 300 are people who completed the fifth mission, and the other 700 are those of you who completed the first mission~ Now lets look at the sixth or second mission~]

[Mission #6, Assistance.

-Description: There is a group of survivors who are trapped by a horde of monsters called Imnoteps. They are monsters with 4 hands, 2 legs, 4 eyes and 2 heads. Kill all of the monsters and save the survivors to complete the mission.

-Time Limit: 1 day.

-Rewards: 200 points. 200 xp. 10 stat points. 500 Karma.

-Failure Penalty: Death.]

Oh? I can actually get Karma for completing this mission? Interesting. When I was thinking that, everybody got covered in a white light and teleported somewhere. When I opened my eyes, I found myself within a locked room.

I looked around and found that there were 9 others with me. 7 of which are newbies, and the other 2 are people with weapons and armor. I ignore everybody else and inspect the room we are in. It seems like a frozen room where you store food or something, since there are no windows and a single metal door.

The room is also very cold, but not that it bothers me. I look at the others and notice that they are all shivering, even the 2 people with gear who survived the fifth mission. Did they not increase their endurance? Retards. Increasing endurance helps with everything about your body.

I shake my head at these idiots and sit down somewhere. I already inspected the door and I can tell that I can't cut through it with my sword, so we just have to wait. At least that is what I thought. The others are scared of this place since they are freezing, so they try and open the door.

One of the other 'veterans' has an axe, so he swings it at the door with all of his strength, but it doesn't do anything to it. It only creates a loud noise that reverberates through the cold cellar we are in. Perhaps it also alerted whatever is outside of this room, as I could hear some voices speaking in an unknown language.

The other 9 people stayed quiet after hearing those voices and backed away from the door slowly. I, on the other hand, stood up and headed towards it. I don't know what is outside, but it is probably those Imnotep things.

Reality proved me correct. The door opened and a person with two heads, 4 eyes, 2 legs and 4 arms opened the door. It looked at the other 9 angrily and was yelling something in it's language, probably cursing. I ignore that and stab out with my sword twice, cutting off both of it's heads.

Since we don't need to collect anything from the monsters, I step over it's corpse and walk out of the cellar. I look around and see that this some type of prison. There are multiple other freezing cellars similar to the one I found myself in.

The other 9 people also walked out of the cellar and saw this, so they went and shakily opened them up after noticing no other Imnoteps were here. I also do that. There are only 9 other cellars here, with 10 people in each, so a total of 100 people were here.

Which means that there are 9 other prisons like this holding the other 900 people. The people who came out of their cellars were thanking us happily, but I ignore them. The reason for that is I see something similar to a camera that is moving around.

I frown and stab out with my sword destroying it, but I still felt uneasy. I found the reason why after. There were 9 other cameras here, one outside of each cellar. I quickly destroyed each of them, but I still felt uneasy.

So those were cameras? I could hear a bunch of footsteps and speaking in the other language heading our way, getting louder and louder. The other people also heard them and got nervous and slowly backed away from the direction where a hall is.

There are about 10 other 'veterans' in this group, but they also backed up. Even I backed up, since I could feel a lot of danger from the hall. Is there a leader with this group of Imnoteps, or are there just a lot of them?

I found out shortly after. There were at least 200 Imnoteps coming our way, each of them holding two swords and two shields. I didn't notice anything like a leader, so I guess this is just a common squad.

I wonder how large a squad with a leader would be then. Although I felt danger from the group, it is only because of the large numbers they have. Other than that, they aren't strong enough to kill me. I would only die if I made a stupid mistake in the middle of the fight, which I won't.

The same could not be said about the others though. Nearly all of them are people who just survived the first mission, and they only have some crappy daggers they got from killing goblins or something.

The other 'veterans' have stuff like swords, spears and shields, but they won't be able to do much against this squad. Well, hopefully they take down a few of them before they die, that way they can help me make this easier.

I doubt any of them will live besides me, so I just hope they can at least kill something. The squad of Imnoteps finally reached the area where we are, and I could faintly smell piss. People actually pissed themselves? Fucking hell!

The squad of Imnoteps doesn't even say anything and rushes towards us fiercely, which caused most of the people behind me to shout out in fear. I frown hearing them and wanted to tell them to shut the hell up, but before I could I was interrupted by a sword stabbing towards me.

I could see disdain in the four eyes of the Imnotep when looking at me, which I ignore and stab my sword out swiftly. When I pulled my sword back, the Imnotep falls onto the ground with a hole in it's chest near the heart.

A few people who saw this stopped screaming out in fear and started calming the others rapidly. Then, they all started rushing at the Imnoteps. I don't know what the hell those people said, but it worked.

I also rushed out. I was killing one Imnotep per slash of my sword. Not even their shields saved them from my sword since I pierced through an opening in their defense with the help my my skill. The fight only lasted 10 minutes, but the result was bloody.

There were 200 dead Imnoteps and 80 dead humans. 3 of the 10 'veterans' died in the fight, leaving only 7 if you don't include me. The newbies remaining picked up swords and shields and followed behind the 'veterans'.

I swing my sword to the side and got rid of all the blood on it and also followed the group of people. I didn't expect anybody to survive, but these 19 people can serve as cannon fodder in some fights to make it easier for me.

We walked through the hall for 10 minutes without getting disturbed for some reason, which confuses me. I saw multiple cameras along the way which were destroyed. Although they got destroyed fast, they could still see our group through them.

Thinking about this causes me to frown. Were they getting a larger squad of Imnoteps to attack us? I really wonder about that. Another dozen minutes later we found a large door which somebody pushes open.

On the other side of the door was the outside. Looking around at all of the buildings and the blue sky, I really wonder what the heck is going on. There is no way that there is only that single squad in this prison, right?

Ah! I completely forgot about the mission. The mission is to save the survivors from the Imnoteps, which means that the Imnoteps are probably attacking that group of survivors right now and only left a squad to guard each prison.

Thinking like that causes this to make sense. It seems like some other people also thought of that, which is good since I don't need to tell them. We see 9 other buildings that look the exact same as ours, so we enter them one by one.

Inside each of them there was a squad of 100 or so Imnoteps, which we took care of. As a result, our 19 small group changed to a 570 large group. A lot of people died during the fights to save the others from the prisons, so the number dropped a lot.

There is only one path that leads somewhere since the other one is blocked off by a wall, so our group follows that path. After an hour of walking we could hear sounds of metal clashing against each other.

After walking a bit further we can see the battlefield. There are thousands upon thousands of Imnoteps besieging a tiny man made fortress. I could see about a thousand humans fighting against the Imnoteps who are besieging them.

The humans might have the fortress, but they are losing the battle due to the numbers of the Imnoteps. The group of mine quickly raises their swords and shields and runs towards the battlefield.

As a result, the Imnoteps got attacked from the front and behind. Although we have no numbers now and are attacking from behind, almost everybody in the group is a novice at fighting, as such, the result isn't that good.

The group of over 500 quickly diminished to 300 within 10 minutes, and we only killed over a hundred Imnoteps. I couldn't sit back anymore after seeing this. It's not because I care about them, it's because if I have to fight these Imnoteps alone without cannon fodder, I won't live to the end of the mission.

I quickly run towards the fight and slash my sword around crazily. Wherever I went to on the battlefield, multiple Imnoteps wounds collapse on the ground dead. I cut some in half, I cut some heads off, I pierced some hearts.

As a result of me joining the fight, we quickly gained the upper hand. Although that is the case, the group were just too weak. The numbers dropped from 300 to just barely over 100 people. The Imnoteps dropped from over 2000 to less than 800 now, which is good.

The Imnoteps didn't actually have leaders fight, which helped us. If there were leaders in this fight, I don't know if we could stand much of a chance. The amount of Imnoteps here was immense, so if there were leaders to block me, we would end up losing.

The fight finished 40 minutes after I joined it. I had injuries all over my body and was bleeding heavily, but I was still fine enough to fight if need be. I didn't even get to walk up to the fortress when all of the survivors were teleported away.

I found myself within my private room right after the fight ended, which confused me. Although I was confused, I didn't put much thought into it, and thought it was gonna be like that from now on or something.
