New Years Eve

It was Friday afternoon, a young man with long black hair and bright red eyes was leaning on the window of his classroom as he starred outside.

"Hmm, I wonder what I'm going to do tonight, maybe I'll just stay in and sleep, not like I have anyone to hang out with anyway"

"Mr. Kataclysm...Mr. Kataclysm....MR. KATACLYSM!"

"Huh? ohh sorry Professor Ivory"

"Since my class is boring you so much, surely you know it all, why don't you explain to the class what caused the downfall of the Galliants?" the moment those words left her lips, the disdain that they carried could be felt across realms.

'She's trying to twist me up, we won't even be covering that topic for another year, how evil'

"The Galliants' demise was caused by their own arrogance, their leader King Midiola sought to kidnap and rape the eldest princess of the Leona Kingdom, that very night, right as the king was about to lay hands on the princess, his face suddenly froze up, two seconds later his head slid off his body in a clean cut, the following day the princess was tossed in the dungeons and everyone who was even remotely hostile towards her were all relieved of their inconveniently empty heads, after this event, the entire kingdom was in an uproar, they sentenced her to the guillotine, everyone was relieved when they saw this and started cheering her death however before her execution, the crowd suddenly became deadly silent in an instant and blood sprayed everywhere, each and every single person in the kingdom, man, woman, and child indiscriminately had their heads removed"

Professor Ivory's eyes immediately changed from a look of disdain to admiration and she sighed in her heart "I'm impressed Kalista, I don't think anyone else in here could have even started to answer that, you've been reading ahead"

"I like to learn as much as I can, not like I have anything better to do," he said with a shrug, his bright red eyes, closed as he smiled and sat down.

"Of course you don't, not like a loser like you has a social life, no one would even notice your existence if you didn't cause so much trouble" a young man called out, this man scoffed and held his head up proudly

"What, not going to say anything or are you too much of a coward"

"Last week, you got in trouble because you had your friends hold me down while you beat me, all because I accidentally spilled a drink on you when you bounced into me in your rush to go somewhere yet you call me a coward? how incredibly brazen of you"

"Why you little--"

"you little what? if you want to retort then next time come up with a valid argument if you don't have the brain power to do that then just stick to ganging up on me rather than make yourself look like a fool" after saying this he turned to the teacher and smiled "I'm sorry for the disruption professor, please don't send me to the deans office"

"After that display, How could I?" She smiled back, now fully respecting the student in front of her.

After class, Kalista got up and started to head to his locker, following him was his fraternal twin sister "Hey Kalista, what's up?" she smiled and tugged on his shirt, he looked at her then looked past her, his eyes focused on a girl in the crowd, quite a distance away, she was looking directly at him, then a door opened in front of her and by the time it closed she had vanished

"Earth to Idiot, you look like you've just seen a ghost"

He looked down at his sister and sighed "Ohh right sorry, I just" he looked back up again and the girl was still gone, then turned back to his sister "I thought I saw someone, nevermind, How'd school go Hannah?" Hannah had long white hair and blue eyes, the polar opposite of her brother, Kalista looked like their mother while Hannah took after their father,

"Boring, everyone here seems so..."

"so much like cliche stereotypes?"

"Exactly"

"Let's get out of here" He smiled and went to his locker, he took out his two helmets and tossed one to his sister.

"Ohh look the slut found herself a boy toy"

"What the fuck is wrong with you Alyssa?"

"It's not my fault you're a slut, I see you don't know what's good for you handsome, you should seriously throw her to the side, she's trash"

"That 'trash' as you were so happy to call her, is my twin sister, so you should shut up because I have no issues hitting a girl that as big of a bitch like you, let's go. Hannah, if stay here any longer, she might lose a tooth"

with that, he stormed out of the building and started his motorcycle, they got on and were just about to leave when Alyssa ran out and looked at them "Hey, look... I'm sorry, I know how important family is, I have a little sister, I got kinda out of hand, I'm sorry to both of you" she looked at them but before she could say anything more, Kalista sped off without a single word, he simply nodded.

"Hey. thank for standing up for me back there, you really didn't have to"

"You might be the same age as me but you're still my little sister, I'm not going to let anyone talk to you like that, we only have each other left, mom, and dad and gone, if I don't protect you then who will?"

She smiled and stuck her hands in the air as she screamed in joy "WOOOO"

"Hey, I know you don't really have any friends, how about you join my friends tonight, we're going to the old historical park, before you say no, remember you owe me, you spent the last two new years in your room"

"You know why Hannah"

"I know but... do you think this is what mom and dad would have wanted? if not for me, do it for them, they wouldn't want to see you gloomy"

"You are really annoying, fine but stop talking about what they want, they didn't for a second think about what I wanted" 'If they did, they would be the ones here instead'

They slowly pulled up in the park and parked just a bit away from where everyone was hanging out

"I meant what I said, stop being such a depressing fuck, you have no idea how proud they would be of you"

She tightly hugged Kalista as she said this, by the time she pulled away, she could see a tear falling down his cheeks, she wiped it away and smiled "tears of an angel" she grabbed his sleeve and dragged him over to her friends

"What's that loser doing here?" The one that spoke was the young man from in the classroom

"I see your friends with Luciel, Hannah"

"Trash like you doesn't even deserve to look at her, so get the fuck away from my girl"

Kalista raised an eyebrow and looked at his sister "So this is your boyfriend Hannah?" she nodded and put her head down

"I am, so get the fuck away from her unless you want me to fight you and kick your ass again"

"Last time I checked Luciel, the last time, you had your boys hold me down while you beat me, I wouldn't call that a fight"

"Maybe you didn't hear me the first time" He walked up and punched Kalista hard in his stomach, then when he fell to his knees and held his stomach, Luciel walked away, grabbed his metal baseball bat and hit Kalista hard in the head, he fell over and didn't move, Hannah looked at the body of her brother and screamed, she ran to him and tightly held him in her arms

"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU LUCIEL!!!"

"I didn't mean to hit him that hard, He pissed me off, I don't like seeing trash like him around you"

"THE ONLY TRASH HERE IS YOU!!! HE WAS MY FUCKING TWIN YOU ASSHOLE!!!"

The entire time she cried and cried, Luciel, dropped his bat and covered his mouth with a hand while Hannah's other friends hurriedly called an ambulance and held Luciel in place as they watched Hannah holding her brother

"Kalista? Kalista? please say something, anything, We already lost mom and dad, I don't want to lose you too" when they heard what she said their faces paled

One of her friends walked over and put her finger by his nose and her ear on his chest.

"Hannah, stop, he's, he's already almost completely gone, he doesn't have much time and the ambulance won't get here in time"

when she said these words she placed her head on his chest and hugged him tightly "I can't lose you too, I'm so sorry"

"Step away from him, let me help" a strange female voice resounded through the area as a young woman walked up, she had wavy black hair that stopped halfway down her neck and bright green eyes

"Y-you can help?"

"Well, by all scientific terms, he's already dead, so tell me, do you believe in magic?"

They all stopped and blinked at this response, the girl that checked to see if he was alive got angry "HOW CAN YOU SAY SUCH RIDICULOUS THINGS AT A TIME LIKE THIS!?!"

"I was not talking to you girl, I was talking to Hannah"

"H-How did you know my name?"

"I'm... for a lack of better terms ACQUAINTED with our dead friend over there, you may call me Ariel I wish to save him as much as you do but I must have your word that you won't speak of my methods to a single soul, so I ask again, do you believe in magic?"

"If what you do to him, works, I'll believe every god damn word that comes out your fucking mouth," She said aggressively

"very well, I suggest you blindfold that one that's tied up, given his personality, I don't think he will keep his word even if I make him"

Hannah nodded and her friends ripped a sleeve off one of their jackets and used it as a blindfold

Ariel knelt down at his corpse and pressed her hand on her chest as she softly sang "It can't be true that I'm losing you, the sun can't fall from the sky. Stop every clock, the stars are in shock, the river would run to the sea, I won't let you fly, I won't say goodbye, I won't let you slip away from me. Can you hear heaven cry? The tears of an angel. So hold on, be strong, everyday hope will grow. I'm here, don't you fear, little one.... don't let go" with these words her palms started to glow gently, slowly his head started to fix itself after some time passed, his eyes eventually shot open and he found that his head was resting in the lap of a strange lady.

"A-Ariel?"

"welcome back to the land of the living, I'm glad to see that my treatment helped"

"you were at the school today, weren't you? I know I saw you"

"I was at the school, you are correct"

"I'm so sorry, even though you stood up for me today, I didn't do anything when I saw him going after you, I'm such a terrible person aren't I?"

"It's fine Hannah, if I always hid behind my little sister, what kind of big brother would I be?"

She cried tears of joy and hugged him tightly

"ne, ne, ne, stop, stop, everywhere hurts"

"I'm sorry, I thought I'd lose you, your friend here saved your life"

Then the Clock face on the Void family tower struck midnight and fireworks lit up the night sky

"Ariel..." He turned his head up to look at her

"Yes?"

"What are you?"
