1 The History of Today

The world has never been calm. In a world filled with people who can control the 4 elements of the world, it was expected. Yet, peace was found. The leaders of the world signed a treaty that brought peace to their people. A dance was created for the women to perform during balls, it brought together the traditional dances of the four lands. For thousands of years, the calm was kept, but like the ocean, a wave disrupted the calm. Luther Nishay was the wave that disrupted the calm.

He was supposed to be the Air Guardian, being a powerful Angel helped him be chosen. His personality was what rid him of his title. Luther would walk around gloating that he was a guardian, that he was the strongest and could go against anything on his own. He would bully others to prove his power. The Ellers, four individuals from the four nations and a soothsayer (someone who is able to see the future) who are in charge of training the guardians, saw him use his power to push a fellow classmate off the side of a cliff.

The Ellers saved the Guardian's classmate but he was immediately punished for his actions. They decided that he was no longer allowed to be a guardian, someone who is meant to protect others. The Ellers rid him of his title and the power that came with being a guardian. Luther was filled with rage. He started rebelling against everything, he wouldn't follow any rules. King James, king of the Angels at the time, banished him from the Glass Kingdom. A banishment never happened, a banished angel became a dark angel. A dark angel never died unless they were killed.

Luther used his new title to strike fear in the hearts of his enemies, earning himself the name Darkstar. He tried and failed over and over again to take over the world. Every generation of guardians stopped him from succeeding, but it didn't stop him from trying. Luther kept trying, even though he failed every time until he didn't. He killed the Air Guardian 300 years after his banishment. This threw off the balance of not only the guardians but the whole world. The Angels grew angry and went to war with Luther, losing hundreds before he was contained. King James of the Angels trapped Luther in a prison inside his own mind, his body was locked underground in a place only the king knew.

Today, Luther escaped. He used his remaining power to control the mind of a young Dryad, forcing him to dig into his underground prison and set him free. Currently, Luther has hidden away to heal. The leaders of the world know that he escaped, and need the guardians more than ever. The guardians are the only ones stopping the world from reaching total annihilation.
