3 Genius?

Aser snapped out of his reverie and walked towards the attendant for his registration with Sister Tully.

"Hi little boy, name, birth date and place of residence please" the attendant replied. She was wearing a light blue full suit, with the symbol of the Test Center on her left pocket.

"Aser Sholt, born June 1st 3560 AE, living in the Tully Orphanage, South Shelfield Coast City" Sister Tully replied for him. Aser kept quiet while the attendant was confirming his registration papers, and then handed a plastic card to Sister Tully.

"Please take him to room 03502 on the first floor Sister Tully", the female attendant replied while smiling and walking forward to the next family in line.

Sister Tully then took Aser inside the Test Center where they tried to locate Room 03502 for Aser's test.

The interior of the tower was seperated into multiple hallways and a large spiraling staircase leading up to the 2nd floor. The floors above that were only accessible to internal staff members or special guests. Going down one of the corridors, they reached the designated room half way down the hall. Sister Tully looked at the door, then looked at Aser and said, "Aser, go ahead. Don't be worried, I'll be right here waiting once you're done. Just follow all the instructions the Crystal asks and you'll be fine. Don't worry about performing well, you can still get into the Public Guild School regardless."

"Don't worry Sister Tully! I know what to do", Aser replied, his voice filled with childish confidence. He stepped towards the door holding the plastic door card and scanned it across the keypad. The door opened into a white room with a few testing peripherals on the sides, and a chair in the middle. He stepped in and the door closed.

Aser looked around the room when he heard Ashes speak,

[Sit on the chair in the center of the room Aser. The Crystal should take care of everything.]

He went and got up on the chair, surprisingly fit for his little body. As soon as he sat down, he felt the light becoming brighter in the room and a holographic projection of a crystal emerge in front of him.

"Good Morning Mr. Sholt. I am the Crystal Processor 03502 in charge of testing your System and your Capabilities. Please Allow the Test Center authorization through your System so that we may begin."

He noticed a light window opening up inside his head with the dialogue [Allow Crystal Processor 03502 from Test Center - Shelfield CC - SS temporary access to System Information? Yes/No]. He imagined selecting the "Yes" button and the dialogue box went away. The hologram then started projecting a beam of light onto Aser's forehead and continue to the rest of his body.

This went on for a while, and Aser felt that the beams of light were getting erratic even at one point in time. Finally, the beams slowed down and reformed into the Crystal at the start.

"Genius? Me? I thought I'd be sort of Gifted after I talked with Ashes, but didn't know I'd be a Genius!" Aser thought excitedly after he processed the results.

[Aser, I do believe you are immensely gifted, but remember, hard work is what matters most, so I hope you won't let it affect you too much. Okay?], Ashes said in a concerned voice in his mind.

"You're right Ashes, I shouldn't get too cocky. I might be a genius, but I'm only 7 years old, I still need to work hard to make something of myself!" Aser replied.

"Thank you for initializing with the Test Center Mr. Sholt, the Identity Crystal will be issued to you now." As the voice went away, a beam of light started engraving on the Crystal hologram floating in front of him as it gradually shrank and entered the chair, a compartment opening up with a little ring on it engraved with complex matrices and engravings.

"Please remember to always protect your Identity Crystal and any loss or theft should be reported to the Guild as soon as possible for reissue. You can now exit the room Mr. Sholt, have a good day. The Administration will get in touch with your shortly." the voice said as the lights in the room faded away to reveal the door.
