Part Two

1st person POV

I felt like my body was tearing apart and became smaller and smaller. I opened my eyes immediately and everything was normal. The bear, the cake and the mirror were still there. I had a sign of relief and turned around.

"OH MY GOSH! WHO ARE YOU?!" I was so scared that I almost fell on the floor. The girl standing in front of me looked at me with crooked eyebrows.

"What?" she said. I turned back to my table and found that my reflection in the mirror was freaking out, but not the same as I did.

I threw my mirror out of my hand at once and fainted away.

After a while, I woke up and found that I was in my bed. The girl that I saw before I fainted was now standing at the end of my bed. She was looking at a monitor thingy in her hand and whispering something to herself.

I wanted to run away but my hands were locked up by some weird green contraptions and fixed on my bed. I decided to pluck up my courage to talk to the girl.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" I asked the mysterious girl.

"Oh, you're finally awake!" she said excitedly. After that, she walked her way to the door and screamed, "she's awake!"

"Hey! Who are you screaming to? More importantly, who are you?" I asked and she finally answered my questions.

"So... I know it's hard to believe but you are in the mirror world."

"Are you joking or what coz I don't se anything funny about it."

"No, I'm really serious. Senior K will come and see you soon. I think she will explain everything to you."

"But why did you lock me in my bed?"

"To prevent you from running away clearly."

Right after she said that, a lady came in.

"Hello human." she said and closed the door behind her. The girl walked back to the end of my bed and started to play with her monitor thingy again.

"What?" I was a bit shocked as I have never heard people greet like this.

"Let me finish human. My name is Senior K and I am one of the seniors here."

"Why did you greet like this? It's weird..."

"That's because you are the only human here."

"No? You guys are both..." right after I said that, the lady turned into a weird looking alien.

"AHHHH!!!" I screamed and closed my eyes.

When I opened my eyes again, the alien turned back into a lady again.

"What are you?!"

"Actually, we don't really have a form of life. We can morph into anything we want. I just morph into a scary looking thing to scare you." the lady said and the girl standing at the end of my bed giggled a bit.

"Can she do that too?" I looked at the girl.

"Yes she can. Do you want to see..."

"No thanks!" I cut her off as I was afraid that the girl would turn into something scary.

"Okay then. Do you want to know where are you?"

"I'm in my house clearly."

"Not really human. You are in the mirror world."

"Mirror world?" I did not believe what she just said.

"Yes. Somehow you got into the mirror world and one of our friends switched with you."

"I don't really understand what you are saying..."

"Don't worry. Katie will help me take care of you now." the lady left and the girl standing at the end of my bed closed the door.

"As she said, I will be taking care of you now."

"Your name is Katie?" I asked.

"Yes, but actually no."

I was speechless and confused.

She continued, "I'm the 'reflection' that you see in the mirror. When humans look at the mirror, they see their reflection. In fact, there are no such thing as reflection. They are us."

"Do you mean that I'm looking at you the whole time while I am looking at the mirror?"

"No. Not me. There is somebody else responsible for being like you."

"Then where is my 'reflection' now?"

"Actually, your reflection and you switched places. She is your world instead."

"What?"

"We are really surprised and shocked by that too. Basically, we imitate humans' behaviors in the mirrors to pretend that we are their reflection."

"How do I get back to my world?"

"Senior K are having a meeting with other seniors now. They are trying to figure out how to deal with you."

"Deal with me?"

"I... I mean get you back to your world."

"By the way, what's that green monitor thingy that you're holding?"

"It's a tracking monitor. I use it to track down the location of my imitatee, the human that I need to imitate."

She continued, "we also use it to send messages with each other. It's like your mobile phone. Basically, the house that we're in now is just a duplicate of your house in your world."

"But what's happening with my reflection now?"

"Oh! We told her the situation and she will pretend to be you until we figure out how to get you back to your world."

"Okay..." I answered.

"I should probably free you." she said before she snapped her finger all of a sudden. After that, the contraptions that were locking up my hands disappeared.

"Let me show you around." Katie opened the door and I followed her downstairs. She led me outside the house and I was amazed by what I saw.

The whole place looked exactly like the place in my world. However, people were flying around and children were chasing after each other happily. I stood in front of the front door, watching all the things happening in front of my eyes.

"Don't you guys have to imitate human? Why are you guys flying around?" I asked Katie.

"It's nighttime in your world, which is free time in my world. People in your world seldom look at mirrors at night."

"Ohhh!" I was really amazed by what I saw. "Do you create all these?" I continued.

"Not exactly me. Our seniors create this whole thing. Many many years ago, human invented mirrors and they became connections with your world. We were scared as we had never seen something like that before. The inventor kept looking at the mirror and we were afraid that he would know our existence. Therefore, one of the seniors morphed into him and imitated what he did and made it look like it was his reflection."

"Wow... I never knew that!"

She continued, "after that, we began to build like your world and learn your behaviors. To be honest, I think being human is fun!"

"Ha! Not really..."

"Humans have a stable shape, unlike us. We didn't even know what is life until we had a connection with you.

"What do you mean?"

"Before we had a connection with your world. We were nothingness. I know it's kind of hard to understand but we knew what is life after that."

"Wow... I feel like I am really useful right now, haha!"

Katie and I both giggled afterwards.

"We know what is emotion, what is intelligence and what is communication because of human. Almost everything you see now is learned from your human world."

"That's unbelievable. I really hope that it is just a dream."

"No! It's not a dream!" Katie continued, "we witness all the changes in your world. We see you grow. We see you become more and more clever, making more and more new things. Even the tracking monitor that I'm using right now is just a modified mobile phone from your world."

"How about the contraptions that you used to trap me with? It disappeared like magic."

"We built things with our mind, not with our hands. Bear in mind that we are not humans. We don't build things like you do."

"So... how exactly did you make that contraptions?"

"I just think about it and it will appear."

"Can you try it?"

"Sure."

Katie looked at the ground and a snowman started to build out of nowhere. After a few seconds, the snowman was finished building. Katie smiled proudly about her snowman while I was clapping and admiring her magical power.

"Let me show you around and meet some of us." Katie said after she made the snowman disappear.

"Sure!" I replied and follow her.
