Part Three

3rd person POV

At the same time as Cheryl exploring the mirror world, her "reflection" was in the real world, feeling very anxious. ( from now on, Cheryl's "reflection" will be called by the name of Cheryl2 )

"Why is it happening to me?" Cheryl2 asked.

Suddenly, her monitor had notification. It was a message from Senior K.

Senior K : Hey! Are you still alright?

Cheryl2 : I'm really scared! Why is is it happening to me?

Senior K : I am investigating with other seniors. We are now having a meeting.

Cheryl2 : Oh my... What should I do now?

Senior K : Just pretend that you are human till we know how to get you out.

Cheryl2 : Okay...

Senior K : Stay save.

Cheryl2 put her monitor inside her back pocket and started thinking about what she could do. She noticed the cake that Cheryl left over. The candle on the cake was still burning brightly.

"What is this?" Cheryl2 asked. "Is it alive?"

She then reached out her hand to try to touch the candle flame.

"Ouch! It hurts!" the flame burnt her and she quickly took away her hand.

"Hey! Why are you so hostile? Huh?" Cheryl2 said to the candle flame. Of course it did not respond to her.

"I can't believe that you hurt me. In my world, you won't hurt anything." Cheryl2 said. And again, the candle flame did not make any response.

"Fine. I'll find a way to get you back!"

Right after that, the candle went off.

"Oh... Okay..." Cheryl2 looked really confused and she finally noticed the words on the cake.

"H-a-p-p-y B-i-r-t-h-d-a-y... Is today special for Cheryl?" she said as she touched the cake gently.

Some cream got on her finger. "Oh what's this? I never expect the texture of this thing being like this..."

She wiped it away on the table and went on looking around the house. Everything felt completely different from her world as only the looks of all things were duplicated. The mirror people never knew the texture, the use and the temperature of all the things.

She thought about how human would behave now and remembered that human would stay in bed now. Therefore, she walked upstairs and sat on the bed.

"I don't need to rest though..." Cheryl2 felt distressed and eventually decided to look out of the window and appreciate the view outside. She leaned against the window, holding her chin in her hands.

"The sky looks really beautiful!" Cheryl2 exclaimed while admiring the shining stars in the dark sky. She never knew that she was actually looking at the endless universe. In her world, the "sky" was just a background that could change colors.

Time passed away. The sun rose and Cheryl2 was still staring the outside world. Meanwhile, there were noices coming from downstairs.

"Sweetie, we're back!"

It was Cheryl's parents. They came back from the hospital.

Cheryl2 lay down in the bed immediately and closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep. Right after that, Cheryl's parents opened her bedroom door and took a little peek. When they saw that her little girl was still sleeping, they closed the door gently and went back downstairs.

"Phew... I almost got caught..." Cheryl2 whispered to herself.

"I'll wake up until 9. I hope it won't be too suspicious."

She lay in bed, staring at the empty ceiling.

Meanwhile, Cheryl was still walking around with Katie.

"Er... Why is everyone flying around in a rush?" Cheryl said while looking around with crooked eyebrows. The kids that were playing before were rushing back to different places whereas youngsters that were partying before were leaving the place.

"You see, the night is replacing by the day. We need to get to work soon so that no human will find out the secret about us."

"Then why are you still here?"

"Good question. My imitatee passed away s week ago. Senior K had not find a right person to let me imitate."

"How many humans have you imitated?" Cheryl asked curiously.

"Hmm..." Katie started lifting up her fingers to count.

"Oh! This is my 1000th time!"

"Wow! That's so many!!! When are you going to be a senior?" Cheryl asked excitedly.

"Oh yeah... We can be a vice-senior when we achieve 1000 times of imitation!!! How can I forget about that?"

"Maybe that's why Senior K did not assign you to imitate anyone. You are going to be a new vice-senior!!!"

"And maybe that's why she is telling me to take care of you. She wants me to develop managing skills!" Katie said, looking extremely hopeful. Although it's none of Cheryl's business, she was still extremely excited for Katie.

"I know you have walked around in this area a lot when you are in your world. Do you want to see something different here?" Katie asked.

"Of course I do." Cheryl answered with her eyes wide opened.

"Hold my hand."

"Okay." Right after that, Cheryl held Katie's hand without thinking twice. Katie closed her eyes and frowned.

When she opened her eyes again, the two girls were already in a whole new place.

"Welcome to the control center."

"Omg... It's spectacular..." said Cheryl, looking at the complex pathways above her. The whole place was very bright and clean. The transparent tunnels were intersecting and directing to different places. Some were on top of one another and quite a lot of people were traveling through them.

"Where on earth is this?"

"It's not on earth, it's in earth. One of the seniors found that it was quite empty inside the spherical earth. We decided to make a control center here to manage all the mirrors, imitators, and of course, the world."

"Cool!!! Your world is so much fun!!!"

"Senior K is having a meeting on the top floor. I need to bring you to see her later. Let's enjoy the facilities here first."

"Yay! Let's go!"

The two girls rushed to the crystal elevator at the same time without any discussion. Katie pressed the elevator button to the first floor while Cheryl was looking forward to what's coming next. They waited for the elevator door to open excitedly.
