What appeared in Cheryl's eyes made her shock. Many people were surrounding a large meeting table, talking about something before Cheryl and Katie walked in.
When the two girls walked in, they stopped talking and turned their heads to them. Some of their eyes looked confused, some of them were angry and some of them held an unfriendly glance.
A lady from the group of people stood up. She walked out of her seat and approached Cheryl and Katie. She was Senior K.
"All Seniors, this is the human that I'm talking about." Senior K said while wrapping her hand around Cheryl's shoulders.
Cheryl smiled and did a little wave to all the seniors. Some of them smiled back while some of them ignored her or even showed a sense of disgust. The room became noisy as they started chatting about the human.
"I told you she's nice."
"You never know."
"I think she is a threat to us!"
Different seniors held different opinions on the human.
"Silence everyone." someone shouted in a loud and deep voice. The room became silent as soon as he continued, "now that she's here, let's vote and decide where she's going. Senior assistant Jenny, please."
"Who's that?" Cheryl whispered to Katie.
"The first imitator of all time. He is The Senior."
"Okay. How many seniors are there?"
"Excluding him, we have 26 seniors, using an alphabet as names."
"Okay." Cheryl replied as Senior assistant Jenny started speaking.
"The first option is to put her in a jail." Jenny said before four seniors raised their hands.
"Four." Senior K said as she marked it in her monitor.
Cheryl was extremely nervous. She did not know what to expect and what to do. Her hands were shaking. Katie noticed it so she tried to comfort her.
"Don't worry. You are not going to jail." Katie whispered.
Cheryl nodded her head and faked a smile to cover her nervousness.
"The second option is to kill her." Jenny said and two hands were raised.
"Two." Senior K marked it in her monitor again.
"The third option is to let her live freely under anyone's supervision."
This time, many hands were raised and Senior K started counting.
"Twenty. I guess this the end of the poll."
Jenny announced, "as a result, Cheryl will be free to walk around onder supervision."
"Who wants to be responsible for monitoring the human?" The Senior asked.
A few seniors raised their hands.
"Okay. Please introduce yourself and explain why do you deserve the role of supervisor one by one. Senior C, please." The Senior said before Senior C stood up and started talking.
"I hope she isn't your supervisor." Katie said while Senior C was talking.
"Why?" Cheryl asked.
"She is famous for setting up strict rules."
"Oh no..."
"Therefore, under my supervision, the human will be controlled. Thank you." Senior C finished her speech and bowed before she sat down.
"Next. Senior R please."
"Hi, I'm Senior R. The reason why I..."
"How about her? Is she good?"
"Nah... She only cares about herself. She'll never help if you have any problems."
"Okay..."
"-and this is the end of my speech. Thank you." Senior R said and she sat down afterwards.
"Finally, Senior Z." The Senior said before Senior Z stood up and started talking.
"She looks nice. Is she really nice?"
"Maybe..." Katie answered with uncertainty.
"What do you mean?"
"When she's happy, she is super nice. When she's mad, you're doomed..."
"Gosh..."
"Thank you everyone." Senior Z sat down and The Senior nodded his head.
"What do you think, human?" The Senior looked at Cheryl and Cheryl was shocked.
"Me?" Cheryl questioned.
"Yes. You. Please choose one." he said as the three seniors turned their heads to Cheryl with a smile, making Cheryl extremely uncomfortable.
"Ummm..."
"The Senior, I would like to say something." Senior K said.
"Go ahead."
"I would like to nominate someone to be the supervisor."
"Okay. Go on."
"I would like to nominate Katie."
The whole room became noisy right after Senior K said the name "Katie". Some seniors rolled their eyes and some of them became very emotional.
"Silence everyone. Senior K still has something to say."
"It is because Katie is going to be a senior assistant soon. I would like her to be responsible for something big so that I can assess her performance easily."
"Okay. Let's hear from Katie."
"Hi..." Katie answered carefully.
"Do you want to be the supervisor of the human next to you?"
"Ummm..."
'Say yes Katie!' Cheryl wished.
"Yes...?" Katie answered.
"Human, do you want Katie to be your supervisor?" The Senior asked.
"Yes." Cheryl replied and some seniors sighed.
"Okay. Please announce the result." The Senior said before Jenny spoke up.
"The human will be able to live freely in our world under the supervision of Katie. This is the end of our meeting." Jenny announced.
The seniors started to disappear and the meeting room became empty. Senior K, Katie and Cheryl were the only ones left in the room.
"Thanks Senior K." Cheryl said.
"Don't thank me, thank Katie."
"Than-"
"It's fine. Let's leave."
"Wait. Go to my room." Senior K gave Katie a card and disappeared afterwards.
"Where did she go?" Cheryl asked after she watched Senior K disappeared all of a sudden.
"I guess she wanted me to tell you something."
Katie and Cheryl walked in the elevator and Katie pressed the elevator button with K written on it.
"Please present your card." a voice coming from the elevator said.
Katie raised the card in front of the elevator scanner and the elevator started to move.
"Katie, where are we going?"
"To Senior K's private room."
"Why?"
"You'll see."
The elevator kept moving and finally stopped after a "ding" sound.
They went out of the elevator and Katie immediately started finding things from Senior K's drawers.
"Do you need help?" Cheryl asked.
Katie ignored her question and kept on finding the thing she wanted.
