Kriger?! That's impossible, the way you dress is not like how a Kriger would dress, plus Kriger youngsters can't go outside! You're lying to me aren't you?!

The guard couldn't believe it. Someone dare to use the name of the most powerful family of Kyus City as if it was nothing and the worst was that these kids were clearly lying!

Oh no sir, we're not lying at all. In fact, we have the crest made by the family right here. As Leon spoke, he reached his hand under his robe and took out a necklace with a family crest. 2 Lions with red manes could be seen roaring at each other with 2 broad swords crossing over them and clashing. It was the official family crest, and with the strickness that was enforced at Kyus City, they were impossible to fake.

Kyus City wasn't similar to how cities are in our time. The whole city was built by 10 powerful men that brought their families and others with them when they found a patch of clear land with no trees. After raising the walls, they divided the gains between all of them, forming 10 initial families. Right now, only 5 of those 10 families control the most important resources, the other 5 families became small clans and control the left overs. Despite that, every family respect each other and try not to create trouble. The Kriger, were the "warriors" of the city. They had control over military affairs and were in charge of security, reason why they became the most powerful family. Still, this wasn't something that came for free. They had to give up other things, like most families.

There was a really weird rule at Kyus city, and that was a rule that aplied all the inhabitants. No one, absolutely no one, could master more than one thing. The best example of this were the 10 families. All of them had different professions, and as the Kriger were the best at fighting, the Umbazi were the best at Carpentry, the Zidar were the best at working with stones and minerals, the Boer were the best farmers and had a lot of live stock and farmlands, the Smid were amazing at creating different things, usually in charge of blacksmithing the armor that most families used. This created a symbiotic relationship between the upper levels that brought peace among the city. If there was a problem between the Kriger and the Smid, the Kriger would lack armor for their army, if the problem was between the Smid and the Zidar, the Smid wouldn't have metals to work with and the Umbazi would be in a really big problem if the Boer didn't provide them with food in exchange of tools. All these brought harmony to the city itself.

All crests were made by the Smid, and no one else could forge them due to the materials used for them. When the guard saw it, his awareness lessened and his nervousness faded away. He turned to look back and realized that his partner was coming back from informing. As he saw him coming, he turned around and said; Someone will be here soon, please wait for a bit more as we can't open the doors to just anybody despite the proof you might have.

Leroux got impatient and stepped forward once more, the guard seeing this got scared but was saved by Leon, as he stopped Leroux by putting his hand on his shoulder. After smiling at the guard he grabbed his rod and waved it forward, activating a few more traps with it.

What happened next was unexpeted, when the traps hit the rod, they smashed themselves against it like what would happen if someone tried to destroy a rock with an egg. Those traps were the eggs, they pretty much cracked, some axes, some wires, arrows and the like tried their best at their functions but failed nonetheless. What was that rod? What was it made from?!

Please, don't destroy more traps, please don't. Each one of them is useful in it's own and they protect the city. Also, if we have no proof of what happened, we will be held responsible for their destruction! I beg you young man, don't destroy any more traps.

Leon's eyes closed gently, as if he was pondering over something.. he reached his bag and took out 4 golden leaves and waved them around. He opened his dull and gray eyes and looked at the guard, his mouth slowly opening and saying

Okay, we will not destroy any more traps. Instead, we can work out some kind of deal. You deactivate them and let us in, in exchange, we will give these 4 golden leaves to you. But, you have to trick your partner and not tell anyone about us entering the city.

The guard saw the golden leaves and sweat run through his back, those leaves were really valuable ingredients in Kyus. They were usefull for different things, making minerals that took long to melt, be more malleable, they could also be used to make a really good tea that helped sick people recover and when applied on a cut, the cut would close really fast. Because of all of those rare properties, they were really expensive. Yes, they were a consumable, but they could be sold for a high price and that would help his family greatly! Regarding the temptation the guard frowned, his mind was set on stone about his answer. Before he could reply, Leon interrupted him

You can benefit from this, or we can just force our entry to the city. You've seen what we're capable of doing.
