19 Doubt and Seed

Lizzy's eyes were fixated on the task and was staring at the optional tasks section, she could get rewards by eating the all the inmates or killing them but what caught her eyes the most was the second optional task.

"Granny wasn't simply robbed?"

"That is for the host to figure out"

Lizzy felt a strong sense of anger welling up within the depths of her heart, she could already deduce that her granny being robbed wasn't a coincidence.

"Could this also mean that my parents death was also not a coincidence?"

The system didn't answer but that was enough for Lizzy to get some info, in her mind she was sure that her family was purposefully targeted.

"But why? would they target my family?"

Lizzy tossed her straying thoughts to the back of her mind for a bit in order to calm down, but deep in her heart a seed of distrust against humanity was planted , her parents to her knowledge were kind and caring, they even gave to charity.

She began to doubt her own parents and question what they were actually doing, 'was their kindness all an act? a ruse to fool the people? what about their care and love for me, was that all a lie?'.

Lizzy tossed these thoughts to the back of her mind as well, she will think of them in the future when she had more information because right now she need to be stronger, she was still many genodes away from an evolution and she wanted to maximize her strengthening.

"System do I have enough ability to kill the inmates?"

"The host currently does not have the ability to go toe to toe with a human, however the system recommends ambush tactics using fantasy acids"

"I do not know who he is, can the system give me his location?"

"No, the system can give the locations of all 15 inmates but not a specific inmate, the host will need to hunt for him by their own"

"Will the host accept the main task?"

"I accept"

"Main task [Granny's Avenger] has been accepted"

On the same edge of her sight that had the snake task a new tab was added.

"Okay its either I find the snake or the inmates first"

Lizzy had steeled her resolve to kill her granny's murderer, to eat or not was something she will decide later, she was full of energy and murderous intent towards the murderer.

"Granny please forgive me for what I am about to do, I know that you will not like what I will do but a world with fake kindness might be a world not worth keeping"

Lizzy got out of the cave carrying a new world view, she wanted to know the truth about everything that had happened to her and why her life was miserable.

She entered the woods again and began her own hunt, a hunt that would end up shocking the hobby hunters and the quite possibly the world.

Night had arrived and somewhere in the forest.

"So Mr.Jones you came to the man hunt without any extra equipment apart from your gun, vest, a canteen, and lots of magazines?" Eric.

"Yes, I didn't expect it to last 7 days" Jonathan.

"They didn't inform you eh" Eric.

"Inform about what?" William.

"This time the manhunt has been funded by the government of every country and they are now watching us along with their high ranking officials, discussing on the legalization of man hunt execution broadcasts" Eric.

"Mr.Eric how many times have you joined to the contest? I seem to have not seen you in the past broadcasts" William.

"I've been here 3 times already, you just can't get enough of hunting a creature with proper intellect, a measly animal can't satisfy you after you've hunted humans and believe me I tried to return to animal hunting" Eric.

"How'd it go?" William.

"Well as you see I am here, instead of hunting within my home country the kangaroo empire which I say by the way is illegal, I only mainly hunt creatures on rhino kingdom but I've quitted, ever since I joined this man hunt contest, you just can't get the excitement that human hunting offers and I don't have to be guilty since they're all gonna die eventually anyway, so why delay it?" Eric.

The three men chatted away on the topic of man hunting, Eric allowed the sharing of his tent, since having people sleep just outside his tent might attract unwanted creatures and that was a very negative situation, to be attacked in your sleep doesn't feel great.

As the hobby hunters slept, another hunter was on the move, a lizard with alligator features.
