This was the only thing heard by the soldiers, and to most, if not all, it wasn't even heard.

A red liquid coated every person in the clearing like mist. Black streaks started to circle the field.

Drip

In the waning sun the only things visible were the silhouettes of two people standing on a hill. One clad in full plate armor, and the second in a robe.

Drip

"We have won," the one in platemail said.

"But at what cost," the one in the robe responded sadly.

They looked over the corpse covered field. The red droplets glinting like rubies. Not a single person besides themselves was alive.

They sighed turned their backs towards the horrific scene and walked away.
