5 Five months pass

(A/N: This might be sudden but I have changed our MC's name to Hitori as Ravid does seem to hit the right spot for me-along with some peer pressure from our commenters of course :) ENJOY! Also, I think I have decided on a love interest... I mean- you guys can guess but for the sake of some people who want to keep it hidden, I will not tell you. It should be interesting... Also, Sunagakure absolutely sucks lol, finding information on Suna characters is soo hard.)

And in an instant, a week would pass...

Hitori worked diligently every day and his mastery grew at an extremely fast rate.

After three days, he was able to hover the sand for an hour. He spent the next four days trying to form basic shapes with the sand and soon enough he was able to.

The day for Sasori's return came, Hitori was extremely expectant of it but news was given to Chiyo that Sasori would be gone for longer.

This made him extremely depressed as he had extremely high hopes. But fortunately, Chiyo came to save the day. She said that she would train him and after seeing his chakra control, she was convinced that he would be able to learn how to control puppets.

She brought out a small puppet about the same size as him and began explaining the puppet technique, "To perform this technique, you must create chakra threads from your finger and connect them to a puppet. And as you move your fingers, the puppet should move as well."

She brought the puppet to him and said, "hold your finger out and place it in front of you. Now sent your chakra outwards and make it as thin as you can and sent it towards the limbs of the puppet."

Hitori nodded seriously and did so. As he did, he saw a small blue thread of chakra slowly spread out from his fingers and onto the puppet. As it struck the puppet, it suddenly latched on.

"Good," Chiyo spoke, "Now try to move your fingers."

Hitori moved his fingers slightly and found that the puppet had moved as well.

"Whoa..." he spoke in amazement.

"Great. Now try and see if you can get it to stand..."

And in the next two minutes, after some attempts, he was finally able to get the puppet to stand, though it was very wobbly.

"Now see if you can get it to walk..."

"Good, now see if you can get it to pick up a book..."

And time quickly passed as Sasori did not return for many months...

During this time, Hitori grew closer and closer to Chiyo and his strength began to grow at an alarming rate.

For the following five months that Sasori was away, Chiyo often took him to her personal training ground to help guide Hitori as the house was soon too small for his training as he was able to get his puppet to be able to do simple chores.

Currently, Hitori was training in the training ground. He had two puppets in front of him. One was the one that granny Chiyo had first shown him and the second one was a simple female one that she was not using.

Both puppets skillfully moved around as they made their way through the place, maintaining a distance of ten meters from him as they charge at the puppet that was charging towards him. He was sparring with Chiyo who was using only one puppet.

Hitori's puppet gracefully dodged the punch and the following one punched outwards as retaliation but to his disappointment, the Chiyo's puppet suddenly moved faster and sent a punch to both the puppet's head, causing them to be dislodged and fly off.

"Ugh... I lost again," Hitori spoke with his head low in embarrassment.

"Haha... That was fun, Hitori but if you don't learn to fight at a farther distance then puppets will be useless," Chiyo laughed before giving him an advice.

"I know..." he replied as he sat down on the ground with sweat pouring out from his body.

"Stand up. No time to rest," Chiyo spoke as she sent her puppet flying towards him.

Hitori immediately stood up and panicked, "WHA-WAIT WAIT WAIT! I'M NOT READY!"

He then ran from the puppet while clumsily dodging every attack through what seemed like dumb luck for a few minutes.

Seeing him dodge so many attacks, a small smile appeared on Chiyo's face, "This boy is getting better at his taijutsu."

She purposely slowed down her puppet to give him a rest.

"Ha.... Ha..." Hitori gasped for air loudly as he regained his breath while sweating profusely. After two minutes of resting, he spoke, "Ok. Let's get this done now."

He then charged forward...

The puppet sent a punch towards him.

Dodge!

Hitori shifted his body and turned his body to the right and delivered an elbow to the jaw of the puppet's body and cause it to crack.

The puppet then sent another punch with it's free hand to his abdomen.

He waited and as he saw the punch come out, he placed his hand on the puppet's incoming hand and pushed himself up.

Axe kick!

Hitori then did a frontflip and brought his foot out and slammed it heavily right on the puppet's crown.

Immediately, it shattered and Chiyo was left amazed.

"Haha! I did it," he laughed out loudly as he looked at Chiyo, "Impressive right?"

"You have improved a lot," she spoke with a happy smile.

His puppetry was still in its early stages but he could rival early genin puppeteers and his taijutsu was strong. All in all, he could be called a genius.

As they were enjoying the moment, a shinobi suddenly appeared, wearing the Suna headband, he proceeded to bow before speaking, "Lady Chiyo, your appearance is needed at the Kage's office."

Hearing this, Chiyo's face turned serious as she nodded. She then turned to Hitori and spoke, "I'm sorry, Hitori. I'll leave you to train on your own for a while. I'll give you a surprise when I return."

Hitori nodded with a smile but his face suddenly turned hopeful as he asked, "Grandma, can you give me a sword to borrow? I want to try something."

Chiyo's face revealed a surprised expression that was soon covered with a warm smile. She threw out a scroll from her pockets, unsealed out a simple katana and gave it to him, "Don't hurt yourself."

After saying this, she left with the sand shinobi who was looking at Hitori with an extremely curious expression.

Hitori observed the katana, it had a black cloth on its handle and a long thin silver one-edged blade.

After seeing that they had left, he spoke out, "Status."

"I have made it to two hundred, finally," Hitori spoke with a happy smile.

His daily routine these days, excluding food, was morning body workouts, and puppetry training with Granny, and then he was free for the rest of the day.

He had improved his puppetry at an alarming rate and even went to the point where he could force Granny Chiyo to use twenty percent of her strength. But there was still much work to do...

As he trained more and more in puppets, he grew more and more bored with them. They were like lifeless statues that he could use as an extra limb. There was nothing more than that. And because of this, he began to pay less and less attention to puppet training. To him, they just didn't do enough damage.

It got even worse when he stumbled into Sasori room. He had missed his older brother a lot and couldn't help but sneak into his room. Here he found Sasori's dairy. It did not contain notes of his jutsus and things like how his days went but instead, it was notes of his opinions on life and how he did not like the village.

This dairy had affected his personality quite a lot and caused his personality to change into one of questioning. He would often ask Chiyo deep philosophical questions and Chiyo would often answer by saying her own opinions and Ravid would often disagree with them.

"Ugh..." Hitori thought as he jumped onto a rock under a shade and laid his back on it and looked up at the sky.

"How peaceful" he mumbled out as he began his existential crisis.
