4 Beginning Training

About five hours later...

"Finally done," Hitori exclaimed in satisfaction as he closed the final page. He looked at the books in front of him and was quite amazed that he was able to finish all of them in five hours.

The sky was now dark as night had come, the sun was nowhere to be seen and a very calm slow wind could be seen blowing across the village that Hitori had a good view of.

"Took you long enough. Come here," Sasori spoke from the balcony entrance as he directed him to sit next to him on the short stairs.

"So, you remember what you read?" he asked.

"Yep," Hitori replied with a happy smile.

"So you know that to use puppets you must be able to control your chakra to an extreme degree?" he asked again.

"Yep," Hitori replied nodding.

Sasori stood up and walked out onto the balcony, "First thing we need to do is work on your chakra control."

He then walked over to the corner of the balcony and there was a small bag of sand. He dragged the bag and walked to Hitori.

He then stopped it in front of Hitori. After this, he then walked into the house and brought out an hourglass.

"I want you to use our chakra and make the sand in front of you, float for an hour. If you need more, then go and take some more," he instructed.

"Okay," Hitori replied with a smile and Sasori sat on the railing of the building and looked out to the village while Hitori began trying this exercise.

He closed his eyes as he held out his left palm, facing upwards with a handful of sand, and tried to feel the energy inside of him and saw that there was a strange feeling in his body.

This must be chakra!

He thought and he began to direct the chakra to move towards his left hand.

Swoosh!

Immediately, the sand temporarily began to move and it suddenly dispersed in all directions.

'A fail...' thought Hitori with a smudge of disappointment. But he was not discouraged at all as he could feel what happened.

The chakra he had just sent through into his hand was successfully dispersed but it was dispersed in a sudden outburst.

He knew what he had to do.

'Control how much chakra was let out!'

On his second attempt, Hitori had a much easier time as he found that he was able to make the sand levitate on his hand for a longer amount of time.

"Oniichan! Look, I did it," Hitori shouted in utter joy as he saw that the sand was floating on his hand.

Curious, Sasori turned around and saw that Hitori was currently smiling brightly at him as he held his hand out which was currently causing a small pile of sand to hover on his hand. A surprised expression appeared on his face. Less than five minutes had passed and he was already able to hover the sand on his hand.

'Onii-chan, eh? It feels nice to be called that,' Sasori thought.

"Nicely done," he spoke as he gave Hitori a thumbs up and he then turned serious again as he spoke, "It's nowhere near an hour yet."

Hearing this, Hitori realized he had spoken too suddenly, "Sorry..."

As they were busy training, a shinobi suddenly appeared next to Sasori, shocking Hitori as he stumbled backwards, causing the sand to fly into his face.

"Sasori-san, you are called by the Kazekage, please head to the Kage building immediately," the shinobi spoke before disappearing again.

"What was that?" Hitori asked curiously as he walked to the railing and looked down and he saw that the shinobi was nowhere to be seen.

A hint of extreme anger and annoyance flared up in Sasori's eyes as he let out a long sigh. He then turned to Hitori and messed up his hair, "Onii-chan will be gone for a bit. Keep training."

He then stood up on the railing and turned towards Hitori with a sudden smile, his mind suddenly seemed to have a new idea, "Okay. I will add a new requirement to your task. You will have the rest of this week to train in this. Surprise me when I come back!"

After he said this, he jumped off and began making his way towards the Kage building while Hitori stared at him in wonder and admiration as Sasori skillfully hopped past the buildings.

Hitori then continued training, he eventually used up all his chakra and ended up only being able to hold up the pile of sand for thirty minutes before his chakra was depleted.

But fortunately, Chiyo returned as he finished.

"I'm home," she spoke as he opened the door and saw that Hitori and Sasori were no in the living room.

Before she could panic, a loud happy voice greeted her with a hug, "Welcome home, grandma."

A smile broke out on Chiyo's face as she hugged the child back. She then looked around again and asked, "Where is your older brother?"

"He went to the Kage building. He said there was something that he needed to do," Hitori replied as he released his hands.

Chiyo immediately turned a bit serious and sad but she then saw that Hitori's left hand was extremely dust as if he had been playing with sand. She looked at him with a questioning gaze.

"I was training with onii-chan," Hitori replied as he began explaining the events of his training.

"I see..." she replied with a smile, "Hitori?"

"Yes?"

"Do you want to be a shinobi?"

Hearing this, Ravid's face suddenly changed as his previous happy demeanour disappeared, greatly surprising Chiyo.

"Grandma, what does it mean to be a shinobi?" he asked with a sad tone.

Hearing the level of the question, Chiyo was greatly taken back. She took about a second to process it before answering, "That is different for everyone. What is your answer to that question?"

Hitori stood blankly for a moment. He asked, "I read the books in the bookshelf. Do I have to become a Suna shinobi?"

"You don't have to be if you don't want to but that is something you don't have to worry about at this time," Chiyo replied with a smile.

Hearing that, Hitori's smile returned and he answered, "Then yes. I would like to become a shinobi. But I don't want to be a part of anything, I only want to be with you and onii-chan. I don't want to be sent away on other missions like onii-chan and the others."

That night ended with Chiyo and Hitori receiving news that Sasori was to be sent on the battlefield. A new attack was to be launched and the Kazekage wanted Sasori to lead it.

"Grandma, why don't you fight in the war?" Hitori asked.

"I have to stay and guard this place. The kazekage said that he is planning to build a great defense system in the village and for that, he needs me so I am forced to stay here."

"Will oniichan be ok?"

"He will be fine. I can bet that he will come back alive and famous," Chiyo replied and she then saw that there was something wrong with Hitori, "What wrong?"

"Granny, did you ever think that I could possibly a spy?" Hitori asked with a sad expression.

"I did. But my conscience would not allow such children to suffer. I was always alert when I first met you but when you left the restaurant and fell asleep on an alley to not bother me. I was convinced you weren't one."

Hearing her answer Hitori seemed to still be unconvinced. So Chiyo added, "We live in a period of war. So we are always cautious for spies but at the same time, the countless wars have caused many children to be orphans."

Ravid was finally convinced, "I see... Grandma, don't worry. I will protect you forever."

(A/N: Changing his name was a hassle anyways enjoy. I realized I made a big error in the last chapter that made the next few chapters a big confusing. It has been fixed!)
