The desert wind was chilly, frost blowing over the sand

I stared at the impossible sight before me, dismissing my clone's messages for backup. No matter what was happening in London, it couldn't possibly be more important than this.

Malgeysa.

She was here.

The mere sight of her triggered old memories and emotions, feelings I had almost forgotten. The way she stood there, glaring at me, hand on the large rock while Irade kept her eyes closed. Beside the girl was her boy toy, and between us stood the wolf, growling at me, baring its fangs.

I ignored it. All I could see was Malgeysa.

She looked so young. She must've come here after me. She must've read my notes, before they burned it all down.

That's right. They burned it all down.

I narrowed my eyes at her, balling my fist. I grit my teeth as I took a step forward.
