126 It's Fine If Your Emotions Are A Mess; It Just Means You Need To Clean Up A Little

Gadiel

May 25, 4:30 pm, About An Hour Or So Outside Canberra, Australia

The phone was ringing.

"Just cut the call," said Gadiel, eyes on the road that stretched out into the distance. To his left was a tall, rocky outcrop, and to his right was a vast, open field of green, dotted with the occasional wind turbines, turning slowly in the wind.

Tarik sat in the passenger seat to his left. He checked the phone, before hanging up the call.

The two sat in silence as Gadiel drove for a bit longer. They were a few kilometers outside of Canberra, probably not even within the ACT anymore. If Gadiel had to guess, they were probably in New South Wales now; a different state.

"Maybe out there?" Tarik suggested, looking out to the fields.

Gadiel glanced over there briefly. The open fields did seem like an appropriate space, given what they were here for.
