4 Chapter 4: Changes in the world

"Hey you twat, where do you think you're going?" one of the men in suit said, his voice menacing and angry. I was confused, as my actions obviously showed that I was leaving.

"Um, I'm obviously leaving to go home." I responded, rolling my eyes at the guy.

The guy choked in anger. Yeah, I can see that!

"What makes you think you can go home after getting our target?"

I rolled my eyes again. Isn't it quite obvious?

"Are you blind? I can go home because I am stronger than all of you combined. Stop bothering me." I responded coldly, before releasing 60 bolts of different elements, all of them floating behind me. This was possible thanks to the skill that I acquired a week ago, which was Multi-casting.

Allows the user to simultaneously cast spells in succession. number of spells cast depends on the intelligence stat; for every additional point, an additional spell can be casted.]

My original intelligence stat was at 50, but with the successive leveling and unlocking of skills, I realized that stat bonuses were also added.

Right now, I have already unlocked 11 skills which included my initial bolt skill, with the neutral bolt skill at max level 5, the rest were at level 2 each, thus giving me around 25 stat bonuses to intelligence and dexterity.

Upon seeing those bolts of energies appear behind me, visible traces of shock and fear could be seen in their faces, as well as the increased wariness in their postures. Inwardly, I nodded in satisfaction. This was the effect I was aiming for after all.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go somewhere else." I said coldly, before rising up in front of them. Of course, this was with the help of the system's bonus skill, "Flight Lvl 1", allowing me to hover and levitate for a distance of up to 10000 feet from the ground.

"Hmph. What's your name, Mutant?" asked the man in black. He visibly calmed down from my provocations easily, what a surprise, I thought to myself.

I just grinned and said, "Are you stupid? why would I reveal my identity?" and at that, I stopped with all the theatrics and flew away.

Of course, this left them dumbfounded and unable to follow, since no one in their team had the ability to fly. Of course, I had to go immediately, because I received an important notification from the system.

Converting stamina to mana.... Done.

Activating battle map functions.... Done.

Weapon Crafting is now available.>

Upon seeing these notifications, I felt a moment of weakness before it disappeared. I checked my stats and saw 2 additional lines appearing.

System, can you explain the battle system and the battle map functions? I'm quite confused with what it truly entails.

<Battle System is a way for the host to view, quantify, and negate enemy threats. IT allows you to convert the enemy's information into quantifiable data, allowing you to calculate the amount of energy that must be spent to negate the enemy.>

<This leads to the battle system aiding the user fighting against mutated beasts that can hide their real bodies, or even fake their deaths. The battle system would allow you to realize that these monsters are not using their real bodies or are in state of fake death.>

<The battle map functions work in tandem with the battle system. It converts your vision into a detailed anaylsis of the mutated beast/s and others, showing you an approximation of their health points and details about them as well.>

I see. I nodded, and headed towards Africa. The change was coming in gradually, not abruptly. What I was doing now was that I was trying to delay the inevitable by killing the strong monsters, avoiding their overpopulation to occur.

There were already reports of beasts attacking the cities but it was quite toned down. I was surprised with the efficiency of the governments all over the world. After all, each country had at least 100 people with superpowers.

A council was immediately made, known as the World Council, which consisted of people with superpowers that are representative of their respective countries. This council was focused on facing the beasts that started appearing in the wild. After all, everyone with superpowers gained the information concerning the appearance of the stronger, mutated animals the day they woke up after the event.

With this information at hand, I was not the only one taking precautions. They began to inform their government and started to establish hunting teams. At the same time, cities all over the world had began to change to a fortress.

The cities in the past month began to create gigantic walls surrounding the land, each of which are fortified and made taller by those who gained superpowers relating to earth control.

Everything was in place.

Hopefully, what they did, along with the efforts of exterminating the strong beasts that have begun to appear, was enough.
