2 Chapter 2: System functions

Thank goodness I'm loaded. I immediately accepted the task and began to do the daily tasks. There were only 3 daily tasks, according to the system. However, as it mentioned, it would most likely increase in the future when I become stronger and upgraded the system as well.

[Daily Task: Do Good, be Good!

GOAL: Do 5 good deeds today.

Reward: Gain 5 skill points, 5 system points.]

[Daily Task: Earn, earn, earn!

GOAL: Gain 10,000 Dollars today.

Reward: Gain 10 skill points, 10 system points. Earning more than 10,000 will give more skill points, with 1 SP = every additional 10,000 dollars.]

[Daily Task: Magic Practice

GOAL: Practice your magic skills in the System training arena: Defeat 10 enemies.

Reward: 10 skill points, 10 system points. % completion is calculated in this task.]

System, what is the training arena?

<The Training arena is located in another dimension where other warriors train and become proficient in using their skills in combat with either other humanoid beings or beasts. Before entering, I would suggest for the host to generate a "clone" that would enter instead.>

Huh? why?

<The risk of death of the host if he enters with his own body rises from 1% to 60%. It is better to send a clone with whom you would share experiences and memories with.>

What would it cost to make a clone?

<One low-end clone is 1 system point, one medium-quality clone is 2 system points, and one premium-quality clone is 5 system points. The system suggests to get the premium-quality clone.>

Why the premium clone specifically?

<The clone has the Immortal status, thus it can be endlessly revived even after being killed without any additional cost. However, death in the training arena means the body gets kicked out of the dimension for a day.>

I see... But damn it, it's quite pricey isn't it? I don't even have any system points!

<On the contrary, you have 100 system points. You gain 10 system points per hour that the system is activated, as well as gain them from completing tasks.>

Oh. That's quite generous.

<...>

Ok, I'll get 3 premium clones. 1 to send to the training arena, 2 to do my daily tasks. I'll focus on understanding my skills and abilities for now.

<Understood. Deducting 20 system points.>

Wait, wait, why is it 20 system points??

<The more clones you purchase, the more it will cost. It follows the pattern of the Fibonacci sequence, thus a premium-quality clone would cost 5, 5, 10, 15, 25, 40, 65, 105, 170, 275, 345, 620, 965, etc. as more clones are purchased.>

...Fuck, I was tricked by my system!

I shook my head at the losses, and I began to see it as a long term investment. After all, these are clones of me and I share their memories and experiences. Wait.

System, can I modify what experiences I get from them?

<Yes>

How?

<Focus your thoughts on any of the clones and a gear icon should appear. Focus your mind on it and the settings for each clone should appear. Later on, you can do this easier by buying a system upgrade.>

Alright, I'll try it now.

I focused on one of the clones and immediately, I saw the gear icon appear. I immediately selected the icon and the settings appeared. I made sure the experience of death was turned on. After all, people are forged from the experience of near-death experiences and constant fighting. Since the world is going to turn into something like that in 2 months, it's better to be prepared.

I also made sure that our thoughts and memories were at sync, making sure that their actions would mimic my own if I was in their situation.

After an hour of modifying these clones, I realized it was already noon. I looked out from my penthouse and saw the bustling streets with people rushing to the places they were needed.

It was a pity that these people were unaware of the radical change coming in their lives in 2 months. However, as an opportunist and realist, I need to take advantage of this and buy my own land that I can call my base, accomplishing half of my main task.

At that point, I was setting up the stage where I was going to survive and thrive in a changing world!

----

System, can I see my own stats? I didn't see that option at all in the interface.

<Just call out "Status" in your mind and the status panel will appear.>

I called it out and immediately, another interface appeared, but this time filled with so many details about me.
