9 Chapter 9: Second Floor

The enemy's subordinates started to show up, following Zen's order to get a less painful death like Zen promised.

Three enemies started to attack Zen with tears coming out from their eyes, facing death in front of them, the fate they have destined.

They started to point their guns to Zen, but Zen calmly ran toward them, then step on the wall to do a summersault on the air and sprayed his uzi to the enemies' direction while still in the air until those three died.

Zen's teammates glued in shocked while asking each other "is Zen even a human? How he does that?".

Zen landed from the air somersault and saw someone coming toward him. Zen kicked him away until that guy fall, and said "don't come near, you will explode if you do. Let me kill you from far", then shoot the guy in the head.

Zen said "If I can, I just use this machete to cut off your head, but I can't even go near you".

Zen saw the stairs to the second floor, then immediately called his team "guys, I've found the stairs. Let's go!".

They carefully step on the stairs, tried not to trigger any trap. But it seems the stairs is safe as they can made it until the end of the stairs.

When they reached the second floor, they saw there were six rooms.

One of the teammates asked "what are we going to do now? Only if we can communicate with Commander, it must be easier as the detector is with him".

Zen answered "there is no if. I don't know what to do now. I guess, as this is a game for the enemy, he wants to play with our psychology. Typically, when there are six doors, five of them are traps, only one is right. Do you guys have any idea which one to choose?".

One of them give a suggestion "I guess we just start one by one. Even if we start randomly, the probability is still the same".

Everyone nodding their head as the sign they agreed with the idea.

They were approaching the nearest door to them. One of them carefully opened the door, while the other taking cover beside the door.

When he opened the door, he saw nothing there, just a bed and a closet. He entered the room carefully, with his gun ready, followed by the other teammates.

After checking the room surrounding, there was nothing there. They even search if there was anything under the bed, but they can't find anything.

One of them tried to check the closet. Once he opened the closet, he saw a harpoon gun pointing toward him. Unfortunately, the harpoon gun shoots the harpoon, makes the harpoon pierced his stomach, flew him away until clung to the wall.

Everyone who saw that shocked, so that one of the teammates vomited, looking at their teammate's body, full of blood and some of the fleshes and organs came out.

The speaker emitting the enemy voice "woah, we got a big fish today HAHAHA".

Zen's anger is increasing and said in his mind "this is too much! You just wait, this is just a matter of time. Later or sooner, your head is mine".

Zen said to the remaining teammates calmly "let's go to the other room, there is nothing here".

The one who just vomited, said to Zen "I think… I can't keep it up… I can't… handle this".

Zen approached him, without any warning, Zen kicked his face until he fell on the floor. He didn't have time to stand, Zen stomped his leg to that guy's face.

Zen said "oi, don't be a loser here. Commander told me you guys already ready to face death. But look, all I get in my team is a cry baby, what a shame. My rank B friend is better than one of you, the members of Commander Seiji special operation team".

The other teammate tried to pull Zen away from that guy.

Zen continued "thanks God, you have your friend here. If not, I don't know what will happen to your face.

Let's go, I don't want to waste my time here. If you want to just sit here, it is your choice, but I don't think you can make it alive. Even if you can get out alive, what a shameful thing happens in your life, a high rank policeman retreating from an operation, leaving his teammates".

Zen and other teammate step out from the room, heading for the next room. Not so far from the first room's door, the guy Zen just beat up, struggled to stand up, and charging to attack Zen from behind, but Zen calmly catch his arm and threw him on the floor.

The guy said to Zen "don't you dare… mock me!" and tried to punch Zen a few times but calmly avoid those punches and do the standing arm lock to stop him from continue his attack.

Zen said to that guy "don't you see? Our levels are vastly different. You can't even touch me" and Zen released his hand, just to let the guy tried to attack him once more.

The guy tried to punch Zen on the face, but Zen calmly slap the guy's hand away, but the guy kept coming with a roundhouse kick to Zen's left ribs, but Zen blocked his kick by thrusting his sole to the guy's knee.

The guy brought out his knife and ready to slash Zen.

The other teammate said to the guy "are you crazy?! You want to kill our own teammate?!".

Zen said to the other teammate "don't worry let him attack me".

The guy charged to Zen and tried to stab Zen on the stomach, but Zen move his body to side and used his left hand to do a low block with the right hand simultaneously punch to that guy face. Zen followed up his movement by grabbing the right hand of the guy, which holding a knife, and twist it to make the hand weak, then fold the guy right hand to put the knife on the guy's neck.

Zen said "you have the spirits to attack me after I mocked you, it means you still have dignity. Now, did you still feel the fear inside you? The fear that overwhelming you when you see your teammate died in a such cruel way?".

The guy shocked that he already forgets the fear just like how Zen said. His knees also not vibrating anymore. He realized that Zen do that on purpose, just to make him feel better.

Zen released him and said "if you feel better, we should go to the second room".

The guy nodding his head and answered Zen "roger that".

Zen said his thought to his teammates "I guess we just break the door for the next room and so on. We don't have so much sticky bomb left to make an epic entrance".

They went to the second room's door and broke it immediately without thinking too much. Like before, the room was empty but this time, the room is bigger and have a lot of corners.

They entered the room and checked the surrounding. While they were checking, there are about three enemies shown up in the room. Zen easily took down all of them by just shooting using his uzi from far.

As the room is so big, one of the teammates gave an idea "this room is so big. I guess I want to throw a smoke bomb at a corner, so that we can reduce the possible attack from our blind spot while we are checking this room".

Everyone agreed with the idea. The teammate threw the smoke bomb and let the smoke cover up the corner, from floor to the ceiling.

Suddenly a bell is ringing, and water came out from fire sprinklers on the ceiling.

One of the teammates asked "what is this all of sudden? I never thought if the enemy forget to remove the fire sprinklers as he knew it will be a lot of smokes and fires".

The speaker in the room emitting the enemy voice "who smoke in this mansion? Now you triggered bell and sprinklers! Everything will be wet! Or… burn".

Zen realized something, the thing that came out from the sprinklers doesn't smell and see like water.

Zen shouted to his teammates "everyone! Get out! This is gasoline, not water!".

As they were running to get out from the room, a fire came out from the roof and burned everything that covered with the gasoline.

Zen almost burned by the fire but his teammate that he beat just now, push him, make Zen managed to get out from the room.

Both of his teammates burned. One of them died immediately as he still in the middle of the room when the fire came out. Meanwhile the second one, the one who pushed Zen out from the room, his body was not fully burned, but almost everything was burned except his face and his right hand, the hand he used to push Zen. Even though, he still not died, but he was suffered and about to die.

The guy's tears started to come out. He said to Zen "I'm about to die, I'm sorry, this is painful, I don't think I can handle it for a long time.

I just want to thank you; you make me remember my vision when fear overwhelming myself. The vision that Commander applied in our hearts before entering his team, to die nobly as a policeman. Now I get what I want, and it is not just a word anymore.

Now, go, my time has come. Finish this operation and avenge us, I believe in you".

The guy slowly closes his eyes while the tears wet his cheeks.

The speaker emitting the annoying enemy voice again "I actually have a different trap for you guys in the room, but it looks like the spare trap caught you. What a relief, I'm not removing that before".

Suddenly the sound of an explosion coming out of another room. Zen said "that must be Commander's team, I will go there and team up with the team as I don't have team member anymore".

Zen stood up fiercely and said "you just wait, when I meet you, I will kill you… with the most painful death you can ever feel!".
