7 Chapter 7: Game Time is Over

A month after the simulation, they have a normal day as police officer. Kai asked Zen to train him to become stronger, as Seiji already have an eye on him. They trained every day since the simulation day. They will come to headquarter a few hours before their shift started and trained in the training room.

As usual, on a beautiful morning, their voices filled the training room.

It seems like Kai still struggling to hit Zen even after a month of training together, but Zen still can take him down easily.

Kai said while catching his breath "how can… how you can take me down easily. It feels like I'm not improve at all".

Zen tried to uplift Kai "what are you saying? You have improved a lot, but still, you have more empty spaces to fill".

Zen yawning and said "I guess that's all for today. I want to go back home and rest".

Kai shocked "what?! You having a night shift? You are tired but still can took me down easily?!".

Zen replied while packing his bag "I don't know, I just do as usual. Listen kid, don't be so down. Like I said, you already improved a lot. Also, you are the toughest rank B I ever meet. Maybe you can let loose a little. Be tense all the time not good for self-improvement".

Zen walking through the headquarters' hallway to reach the exit door. On his way to the exit door, he saw a police officer running while shouting "emergency! Emergency! Commander Seiji's daughter has been kidnaped!". Everyone was shocked, including Zen.

Zen kept his cool and said in his mind "if they need me, chief will call me. Maybe Commander's team already enough to solve that", then he continued to walk away.

After a few hours, when Zen was sleep soundly in his apartment, suddenly someone was knocking the apartment door.

Zen woke up with an annoying feeling as someone was disturbing his sleep and he shouted "yes?! Who is that?! If it was Aunty Ellen want to return the wok, just leave it near the door!".

"Just open the door" said someone with a voice like Seiji.

"Sounds like Commander" said Zen cluelessly in his head while walking to the door.

When he opened the door, he saw it is really Seiji.

Zen asked "What do you want now, Commander?".

"I want you to help me and my team" said Seiji but then Zen turn his back from him.

Seiji continued to persuade Zen by blackmailing him "please help me this time, it is about my daughter! If you still reject this, I guess I will tell everyone about your secret, the database".

Zen stop walking and turn his head, replied to Seiji calmly "hey, I know you are desperate, but please don't blackmail me like that, you look pathetic for a commander. I accept the offer since the first word you said. I just want to change my clothes. I know how it feels to protect someone we love. But remember Commander, just for this time".

Seiji's eyes started to shed tears, and suddenly prostrate to Zen as a sign of appreciation "Thank you, Zen, for accepting my request!".

Zen replied "my, my, don't do that. Anyway, we need to meet chief first, only him can assign me with tasks. Don't ask why, if you want to know, I will tell you everything after this finish".

They immediately when to the headquarter to meet chief. Seiji told everything about how he knew about Zen's secret and why he needs Zen to help him in this operation.

Chief said to Seiji "So, you know about Zen, huh? You are just like my brother; it is hard to say no. I guess will accept the request. But remember one thing, as the payment, don't leak this secret to anybody".

Seiji bowed to Chief and thanks him with tears on his eyes.

Suddenly Zen asked Chief and Seiji with a serious intonation "so, kill or no kill?".

Seiji, who was still clueless, replied "this is a serious operation. I guess killing is not a problem".

Zen started to walk to the exit door of chief's office while saying "if that so. I will meet you later for the strategy planning. I want to ready my weapons first". Zen then walked away.

Seiji was still clueless with the question, meanwhile chief was rubbing his eyes.

Chief said "Next time, when with Zen, let me do the talking. I really scared to let him kill in a mission. You just like open a cage for a hungry wolf to hunt for his food when you let him kill in a mission. All the skills you saw in the training before, it just a holdback version of him.

I guess for now it is ok to unleash the wolf inside him, as it is important for you, and the one we are against now isn't a normal threat".

Seiji shocked "he still holdback all this time?! I got a hard time fighting him before, but he still holding back?!".

After a few minutes, they met in a meeting room, discussing about the strategies. Seiji showed Zen a voice record from the conversation through the phone with the enemy.

The enemy said in the recorder "Let me talk to Commander Seiji! Commander, now I have your daughter, do you want your daughter back?

Well, it is easy, you don't need to ready a high amount of money. Money can't heal my pride! I heard you like to play games, right? So, listen here carefully, I want you to play a game with me. Come to a mansion at George Park on 7PM with your team. It is ok to arrive late, but don't too late. More than 12 o'clock in the midnight, just assume your daughter was already dead. Also, don't do stupid thing by coming earlier than that time.

I guess that's all. This is what you get by interrupted my beautiful plan! See you at the playground, commander HAHAHAHA!"

Seiji said to Zen "we don't listen to him at first, we tried to send a truck full of policemen in it to ambush the mansion, but the truck exploded when it arrived 100 meters from the mansion.

We also tried to send a helicopter to make an ambush from the air, but the helicopter got hit by a rocket launcher. I guess the threat we are facing now isn't like normal rank A mission. We don't brave enough to do something out of his rules. He is the game maker right now.

This is like a mission where a group of rank S should do, but I can't invite so many S rank in this short time, as they all are busy with their own mission to handle. That is why I need your help, Zen".

Zen asked "so what is the strategy you guys already made?"

Seiji showed him the plan "here, the mansion is a three-floor building. The victim is in the middle floor, the second one. now we have eight people in the team including you, Zen. We will ambush through the roof, as it is the less common way to enter the scene comparing to enter through the front door".

Zen interrupted the briefing "wait, I don't think it is the best way to enter the mansion. Sticking together make us strong, but he is more like a brainiac person, I guess he already calculate all the possibility, how we enter the place. Once we fall into his trap, we all doom.

That's why I came up with an improvision. We split into two team. One enters through the front roof, and the other one enters from the first floor back of the mansion. At least, if one falling into his trap, another one has a higher chance to continue to the victim location.

If you agree with this, I will assign Commander Seiji's team will entered through the roof, and my team enter through the first floor".

Everyone who listened to Zen's plan agreed with it as they don't have any other better idea.

They went to the weapons room to take their equipment, meanwhile Zen's weapons already ready at the corner of the room. Zen took his stuff, an uzi and a machete. He put his uzi in his left side of the belt, meanwhile he put the machete in a sheath in the back of the belt.

Seiji asked Zen "only an uzi and a machete? Why don't you bring a better gun? Also, is machete necessary? Don't it make you hard to move?"

Zen replied "don't ask so much, commander. This is my style. If you prefer a better gun and weapon set to use, how if just you use it?".

Seiji shocked with Zen seriousness. Seiji said in his head "his personality has changed. I can feel it. Is he always like this every time doing a mission or is it because I allowed him to kill in this mission like chief said?".

After they done taking their equipment, they enter an armoured truck and move to the scene.

Once they reached the place, they get out from the truck and gather in a circle for a prayer, ask God for safety.

One minute before 7PM, one of them were looking at the clock and ready for giving a start signal when the time comes.

While waiting, Zen whisper to Seiji, who was lighting a cigarette to vanish his nervous "we asked God for safety, but if God already said he wants to take our life, he can. I hope your team ready to face death".

Seiji replied while blowing the smoke out "don't worry, they already have been prepared to accept death before entering my team".

Zen replied "if that so, I guess they are ready, and will be a reliable teammates".

Suddenly the timekeeper shouted, calling for Seiji "Commander! The time has come! We are ready for your order to start for the operation!".

Seiji throw his cigarette away. As the operation leader, he orders the team "alright everyone, let's do our best. Let's go!".

They were rushing into their position to break into the mansion and save the victim.
