11 Chapter 11: Seven Deadly Sins

Two days later, police department held an honourable funeral for those who died in the last operation saving Seiji's daughter. Unfortunately, the two remaining policemen in the operation, Seiji and Zen can't attend the funeral as they were treated in hospital after they badly injured.

Zen at first doesn't admit and doesn't even knew that he was injured, but after he ran away from the scene, he suddenly fell on the ground and can't even stand back after that. So, he called Chief to take him away. Chief send him to hospital and doctor said his right shin, right elbow, left elbow, and left ribs was fractured. Zen thought it happened because he jumps and being a guard for Seiji and his daughter from the falling impact.

Back to the present day, Seiji was lied on the hospital's bed with his right leg was wrapped with bandage.

A doctor entered Seiji's room and told him about his situation "We already removed the poison in your leg, but you need to stay here for a while as some of the leg's nerves died because of the poison and we have been operated to make they work again. So, it might take time to recover".

Seiji just agreed with it and thanks the doctor for the information. He said to himself "I hope this will not affect my career. I want to contribute myself to this country until the end".

Meanwhile in Zen's room in the hospital, Kai keeps coming with a lot of books as Zen keep requesting Kai to borrow books from the police library and brought them to him until the bedside table was full of books.

Kai asked "why do you need so many books? Isn't one or two books enough just to fill your time in here?".

Zen don't really listen to what Kai just said but he replied to Kai with new order while pointing his finger to a bundle of books on a side of the table "you can take those books to return to the library, I already finish those. Now, take these books from the library" while giving a list of books to Kai.

Kai shocked and said to Zen "how can you finish so many books in a day? I just take it for you last night!".

Zen replied "if you want to read those before returning also a good idea".

Kai replied "you not even answering my question!

Well, I'm going now, I have a night shift. Later I will bring you the books you request".

Kai took those books with him and leave the room.

Zen using his time to keep himself busy with searching for some sort of information and history about his country.

Zen talking alone "I have finish years searching for the real history of this country, but every version of the stories, every different book, contrast to each other. How I want to find the truth, master!".

Zen rubs his eyes and lying back on his pillow while looking at the ceiling. Suddenly he thought of Pride, the last mission enemy.

Zen started to think again "wait, if he said he is Pride, then Gluttony… those names… The Seven Deadly Sins… I guess I have read a book about it.

Wait, if my assumption is correct, then there must be five more of them. Oh no, I really want to know the answer now. Ahhh, my searching for this country real history is not finish yet, now I'm eager to know if my assumption is right or not".

On the next day, Kai as usual came to visit Zen with bringing the books Zen requested. On his way to Zen's room, he complaining around "why me that need to borrow and bring these books to him? Yeah, I know, he helps me improving myself, but where is Reina? Why not she helps him. I don't even see her in this hospital"

Without he realized, there was a young nurse in front of him and he collided with the nurse.

Kai at first want to scold the nurse by saying "man, I'm not in a good mood right now. Can't you…" but he stopped as he saw the nurse was very cute, and he started to blush himself.

The nurse tried to apologise to Kai but Kai with a red face said to the nurse "no, I'm the one who were not paying attention" and tried to help the nurse pick her stuff while his face is blushing.

Kai held the nurse's stuff and asked "where you want to go? Let me help you".

The nurse replied "oh thank you. I want to go to room 309".

Kai felt familiar with the number "309… sounds familiar… Oh that is Zen's room! What a coincident! I also want to meet Zen".

The nurse replied "yes, I going to make a check-up to Mr. Zenith".

They walk together to Zen's room. While they were walking, Kai said in his mind "I never knew Zen's real name is Zenith, he never told me before. Well, a new knowledge for me".

When they arrived at the room, they saw nobody there, with Zen's patient clothes on the bed and a note said "don't worry I'll be back".

Kai thought in his mind "where this man goes suddenly disappear?".

Kai immediately steps out from the room and want to search for Zen. Suddenly he breaks his steps like remembering something. He turns his head to the nurse again and said "errr miss… may I get your number?" with a blushing face.

Meanwhile Zen, who already escaped from the hospital, sitting in a cab, heading to national prison.

He calls Chief using his mobile phone and asked him to make an appointment to meet Gluttony at the prison "Chief, can you tell the prison guard I want to have an appointment to meet Gluttony, I'm sorry, I don't remember his real name. I have something that maybe can help our police department a lot".

Chief replied "ok then. So, when you want to have an appointment?".

Zen replied "about 10 minutes from now. I'm on my way".

Chief shocked and scolded Zen "What?! You should rest in hospital right now! How can you escape from the hospital with a broken body like that?!".

Zen laughed and said "hahaha you know me Chief. So, I already out, you want to make an appointment for me or not?".

Chief sighed and agreed with Zen "yeah, yeah, as you already on your way, I can do nothing about it. Ok, I will tell the prison guard to have a meeting with that guy".

Zen laughed and thanks Chief "thank you Chief! Later I will tell you what I find", then immediately hang out the call.

After a few minutes, Zen arrived at the national prison. He gets out from the cab, and walk with a cane on his left side, with his right hand and left leg covered with bandages. He entered the prison, showing his police badge and the prison's guard brought him to an interrogation room where he can talk face to face with Gluttony.

When he arrived at the room, he saw Gluttony already there waiting on a chair in the room where there is only a chair and a table.

Zen greeted him while hand over a box of spaghetti in a plastic bag "hey Gluttony, long time no see. Here take this, I know prison's foods are not that good. At least, you can have a good food once in a while".

Gluttony raised his head and said "oh you, the monster who can take out more than 20 people in a go. What you want from me? Why you so kind to me, and why with those bandages?".

Zen smiled, sit on a chair and replied calmly "well you can enjoy your meal while we are having a casual chit chat, I hope you like spaghetti and meatballs. I asked them to put extra meatballs for you.

Ok let me go straight to the point, do you know anything about… Seven Deadly Sins?".

Gluttony who was enjoying the spaghetti, shocked and change his expression. He asked Zen "how… how do you know about them?".

Zen smiled and replied "oh, so you know about them. You are not a good liar, Gluttony.

Why am I wearing a lot of bandages, you asked? Well, I just finished an operation, and you know who I killed there? Pride".

Gluttony became more shocked and asked Zen "how… can you kill Pride? I heard his plans never fail".

Zen continued "Oh so you knew him? What do you mean you heard about him? You never met him before? And how about the other five?".

Gluttony confessed to Zen "well I guess there is nothing else I want to hide. Here, let me tell you everything. Before that, I want to praise your brain, can think of an organization just by connected our names, just two of us, with the biblical story, Seven Deadly Sins.

Well, it is right, our organization called Seven Deadly Sins. We never met each other, but we met the leader, the eighth member, we call him The Leader. For me, he is the catalyst for my profits selling drugs. He planned everything, customers, place to deal, the time, the method. He is the mastermind behind everything.

Said about mastermind, I guess he is smart. Now I know why he don't want us to meet each other, he scared people like me leaked the information about the others.

About our names, also he is the one who set it base on our sinful desire or what sinful desire can we make people have. Like you know, me, Gluttony, because I sell drugs and makes people glutton for drugs. Like Pride, he was full of pride and can bring destruction to everyone near him.

I'm sorry, I don't know about the others, but Wrath is always with The Leader to protect him.

Zen replied "don't worry, that's more than enough. I guess I get everything I want. I just want to ask you is my thought about Seven Deadly Sins right or not. But you told me more".

Gluttony said to Zen "It's ok, that information is useless for me now. Keep it secret or leaked to you, they still after my life if I can escape from this prison. So, I guess it is better just enjoying my time here, making friend with you, before my death sentence".

Zen slowly opened the door to get out from the room, while saying to Gluttony "don't worry, if I come back, I will bring you more foods".
