10 Chapter 10: I’m Pride!

Seiji and his last teammate reached exactly above the victim location that they detected before. They put a sticky bomb on the floor, to make a way they can enter the room from above.

Without any further, they blew the floor and make a big hole. This explosion was the one Zen heard.

Seiji and his teammate threw ropes to help them down to the room. After they reached the floor, they saw just a crash-test dummy tied to a chair.

Seiji piss-off, and said "damn, he tricked us! But what we need to expect? He really wants to toy with us, especially me. Forget about this, let's keep searching for the victim".

They checked the room. Suddenly a wardrobe opened by itself, and some poison darts shooting toward them.

Seiji's teammate shouted to Seiji, who was not aware with the darts "Commander! Watchout!" then jumped in front of Seiji and be a shield for Seiji, but still a dart hit Seiji's right leg.

Seiji fall as the dart insert poison into his right leg, and shocked with what happened. He asked his teammate that barely can stand in front of him "are you ok?!".

His teammate smiled at him and said "I guess I got a cool-looking death like in the anime". His teammate slowly fell on Seiji's lap. Seiji tears came out and wet his teammates face.

While Seiji was still saddened by the passing of his last teammate, a man came out from a door in the room with a girl on his side.

"What a sad scene we have here. Luckily, I put camera in every corner, so that I can replay it any time I want, looking at the face who scratched my pride by interrupted my operation".

Seiji look at the man and said "don't tell me, you are…".

The man replied without Seiji finish his word "yes, I'm the one who plan all this game, the one who call you to come here, the one who kidnapped your daughter… and the one who will take your life.

Oh, I forget to tell you, the poison inside you right now, it is deadly, it can kill your nerves. If all the darts hit you, you must be dead by now, but it looks like there is a trash realized the value of his life, sacrifice himself to protect someone who will died soon enough".

Seiji shouted angrily "YOU BASTARD!". Seiji tried to stand up, but he can't as the poison slowly spreading all over his right leg.

The enemy asked Seiji while pointing his SMG to Seiji "any last word?".

Suddenly Zen voice interrupted "how about you? Are you ready for your own?", and Zen appeared in front of them.

The enemy smiled and said arrogantly "oh, one more useless life. I guess, I will take yours first".

Zen unsheathed his machete while saying "how if I take yours first?".

The enemy expression suddenly changed from a cheerful face to a face full of fear after seeing a wolf pattern on Zen's machete.

The enemy said in fear, with a shaky voice "w… wait… are you… people called as… wolf… in the… criminal society?".

Zen replied "I don't care what you guys called me. But a wolf when saw his prey in front of him, he will not let it go".

The enemy said to Zen "wait… wait… we can discu…" but he can't finish his word as Zen shoot his last bullet to the enemy elbow.

Seiji's daughter, who was held by the enemy, ran to his father after Zen shoot the enemy as the enemy distracted by the pain cause of Zen's shot.

The enemy upset with Zen, so he tried to point his SMG to Zen after looking at his elbow, but Zen already disappear from where he should be.

Suddenly Zen's voice came from the back of the enemy, makes the enemy shocked and panicked. Zen said "the bullet can kill you in instance, but I guess I want to give you the most painful death you can think of".

The enemy want to shoot Zen immediately as anger started to overwhelm him, but when he turned back, he started to lose balance. He saw his right leg has been amputated, with Zen's machete covered with blood as the sign Zen was the one who cut it.

The enemy lean against the wall for support and point his gun to Zen while saying "don't be so cocky! You do not win yet! As long as I'm still alive!".

Zen immediately cut his hand, the one the enemy used to hold the gun without any talking, then kick him down.

As the enemy lying on the floor, Zen sat on the enemy's chest and put his machete to the enemy's neck. Zen asked him "now tell me, how can I make you more suffer before dying? Tell me! Isn't you the mastermind, the genius in this topic?".

The enemy still full of pride, replied to Zen "don't you dare mock me!", then spitted the blood in his mouth to Zen's face.

Zen said "oh yeah, mouth must be nice, as you talk so much". Zen put his machete into the enemy's mouth, and pull it to make a cut from mouth, across the left cheek, to the left ear.

Zen said "I guess that's enough, I'm not a monster like you. Let me finish your life quickly".

The enemy who barely could talk, said "if I died, you guys will follow me… because… I'M PRIDE!!!".

After the enemy said that, every corner of the building started to emit a bleeping sound as the sign he already plant bombs in every corner.

Zen shouted angrily "YOU BASTARD!", then beheaded the enemy.

Zen asked Seiji's daughter to run away "you! Run! Just jump through any window you see! Don't worry, someone will be ready to catch you! Let me bring your dad with me!".

Zen carried Seiji and ran away. The building started to explode and collapsed. The ceiling, the floor, everything is falling, along with the raging fire.

Zen saw Seiji's daughter was scared to jump from a window. Zen shouted at him "what are you waiting for?! Just jump!".

Seiji's daughter replied "but there is nobody down there to catch me".

Zen without thinking so much, he grabbed Seiji and his daughter, and jumped together through the window. Zen used his body as an impact absorber, by letting his body hit the land first, then their body's hit Zen's body.

Seiji thanks Zen "Zen, thank you. You help me save my daughter. But the other teammates…".

Zen replied "don't feel so guilty thinking they died just because you want to save your daughter. That is their job, and they proud having death like that.

Anyway, I guess I'm going to go now. I don't want to answer a lot of questions. I still need to keep my secret from the society and police community itself. Later, we continue our conversation, and I will tell you everything".

Seiji smiled and said "yes, go on, before other police came". Zen ran away and vanished in the blink of eyes.

From far away, the same two mysterious guy wearing cloak, watching the scene from far away.

One of them with deeper voice and bigger body asked "another one is down. Should we search for new Pride?".

The other one replied "only if we find someone really worth it for the place. If not, let it empty. We are not desperate to replace him as he already brought a lot of destructions himself. For now, let's keep moving for our plan". They slowly walk away from the scene.

Meanwhile in the other place, there was a beautiful blonde hair woman wearing a police uniform with a man wearing a suit talking to each other.

The woman gave the man a video tape and a file while saying "here, I think we can confirm now that he is the one in the incident from three years ago. This tape I get from the Chief office, I sneak into his office last night".

The man replied "wow you really a reliable team, you make my work easier. Now let's see what the tape will show us".

The video tape was showing Zen killing everyone in a mafia office. The file was shown Zen's profile and data.

The man smiled looking at those and praised himself "I told you, if you hired me, no mystery can't be solved.

You are too naïve, Zen. You suddenly blooming lately, showing that there is something you were hiding before. Now all my assumptions are right HAHAHA".
