7 The Mansion in which Cap'n Buck lived in.

It was the next day and Noah was softly pulling the stems of flowers, vegetables and fruit for Cap'n Buck as he had been requesting. He placed them in an old, brown, woven basket which Cap'n Buck had dug up from the attic.

Once Noah had completed his task, he carried the basket in one nimble hand and strolled inside the grand mansion. The building was eerily quiet save for the unusually loud bombing of water inside a sink of the kitchen. Noah placed the basket of fresh goods on the mahogany table and went to screw the handle of the tap tightly.

It did no good.

Giving up, Noah decided to explore the house and see what kind of place Cap'n Buck used to live in. He couldn't do it yesterday because they arrived near enough to the period of darkness and had to go sleep after dinner.

Noah carefully placed one feet after another. Touching the walls, he felt his imagination wonder. The walls were perfectly fine for a pretty ancient house. How come? Also, there weren't any signs of pests or cobwebs like you discover in these type of houses. Who's been cleaning them? Surely not magic brooms! Noah gave a shy smile to the thought. Of course magic doesn't exist. If it did, there would either be total chaos or perfect harmony and the former can be found in the world rather than the latter.

His feet leading him towards the stairs, he spotted paintings of trees, weather, nature, science and animals. Mostly animals of wolves. Sliding his hand on the barrister of the stairs, Noah glanced up high to find the ceiling way over the height of giants, almost too high for one to be able to reach the attic.

The top of the stairs had neared and the hallway came into view pretty quickly. Noah's lips parted apart an inch and his eyebrows raised gradually. The whole of the hallway was magnificently decorated, taking into consideration the size and height of certain objects against others. Although Cap'n Buck had instructed him not to venture upstairs, Noah had and you can bet he wasn't going to turn back now!

Noah took one eager step forwards and-

"Noah! I'm home!" The voice of Cap'n Buck echoed throughout the house.

"I'm coming!" Noah replied.

Noah tutted with frustration. If Cap'n Buck hadn't come home the maybe, just maybe, he'd been able to unravel any secrets Cap'n Buck was keeping away. With one last glance at the spectacular sight, Noah zoomed downstairs hoping that Cap'n Buck would tell him everything in due time.
