3 Dragon

Oki Eme, that is my name.

I am part of the Draking clan in the desert of ice. I live in a small village between the great ice pillars along with a few other families. My father is the village chief; he is a mighty dragon; his breath is so powerful that he can melt the holy pillars if he wished."

The girl said to the man in front of her, who looked at her with exasperated eyes.

"Oki, how many times have I told you not to talk about me when you are introducing yourself."

Raising her voice, her eyes shining with pride, "But father, you are the pride of our village everyone needs to know how great you are" "And I don't even want to meet this guy."

"You have to, Oki; you are now of age. You must marry him," the man says with a sigh.

"But Father . . ." "I don't want to hear it," says the man cutting off the girl, "He is from an important clan. That is the decision I took as head of the clan and your father," the man says, ending the conversation and leaving the room

The girl pouts, still sitting in the room. After a few minutes, she leaves the room as well. She heads outside, her village made up of a few houses spans in front of her. People smile and wave as she passes, and she smiles back. She is happy.

She heads to the most prominent building, a wooden pagoda carved inside one of the sacred pillars. On the porch, her father is there. In His human form, he looked like a burly middle-aged man with dark black hair and eyes. As she approached the building, her smile quickly faded. As she looked at the 5 carriages outside the building, a feeling of sadness washed over her. Oki knew why there were so many carriages. They were filled with gifts for her father, bribes to make him agree to the marriage.

She walked past her father, her smile now long gone, her black eyes lacking their usual shine. Inside the building, a young man, his eyes and hair golden, possessing a golden hue. She knew him, Azai Suekazu, the Third son of the Goldmane Dynasty, her future husband.

She entered the room and bowed.

"Your Majesty, I am Oki Eme, first daughter of the Eme clan. It is an honour to be chosen by the third royal prince to be a bride," she said politely.

"Oki, my dear, there is no need to be so polite," the young man said, getting up, his crimson robes flowing along with a slow breeze. "You are beautiful as they say," he continues with a kind smile. "Have you and your father agreed to my proposal?"

"Yes, the Eme clan will become a vassal to the Goldmane Dynasty, and I will become your second bride", the girl replies, her voice carrying no feelings

"Good, then we shall leave tomorrow at noon", the man responds before giving a slight bow and leaving the building

Soon after he left, Oki's eyes started to fill with tears, She knew that this was for the best of the clan, but she could not help to feel sad, as the thoughts of leaving her village flooded her mind.

A foolish fantasy among the many thoughts presented itself to her, to escape, run away far from the sacred ice and the cold desert, where the Golden Dragon emperor couldn't find her. As foolish as it seemed, she knew, the golden dragons did not dare to travel westward, in the realms of men. So that night, when black dragons are the strongest, she escaped. She runs westward, as fast as Oki could, she swam through the shadows of the frozen peaks.

As she reached the edge of the frozen peaks, she heard a roar not behind her but in front. As she peaked at the opening in front of her, she saw her father, in his dragon form, his sleek body, wingless with solid limbs and hard spikes along his spine.

He was speaking to the other creature in front of him, a dragon with gold scales with wings as big as an adult Black dragons and three times the size of her father.

"You had assured me that she would not run away", the golden creature spoke, its voice clear and symphonic, almost as he was singing "I was wrong, your majesty, she is but a kid, give her some time, she will surely return" her father spoke in a voice she had never heard before, fear resonated within it.

"Your clan has defied us one last time Draking, even after we allow you to sit upon the council when you lack wings, you defy your betters at any chance you get, this is the last time," The golden dragon says before rearing it's head back, his chest glowing with energy, clearing every shadow in the clearing, the only remaining shadows were the ones of the pillar that she was hiding behind. Oki Dived in the shadows moving further back, losing sight of her father but soon after, she saw a flashing light, strong as the sun it ate away at the ice pillar, melting it in seconds and moving further towards her, the shadows she was hiding in disappeared. She was burned by the bright fire. But thankfully it only lasted a second, her body now burned she watched the clearing, her father layed on the ground deep wounds on his side, tho other beast stood on top of him "Your days and the days of your kin end here Draking" before slashing the Dark dragons' throat.

Disappear filled Oki's hearth. All of this was her fault, she knew it, but it was not regret that flowed in her mind, but hatred, hatred for those damned golden dragons, for those who always looked down on her clan as inferiors, she swore revenge.

Meanwhile, the golden dragon had left, not noticing the injured Draking lying in the shadows of the ice.

Oki spent the rest of the night, standing by her father, hiding in the shadows from the rays of the sun during the following day, until a wolf showed himself at the scene of the battle. It seemed to follow a herd of camels that found the remains of the ice pillar that was melted by the golden fiend. And as she watched from the shadow, the wolf changed into a human, with the sudden realization that one of the small races had witnessed the dead body of a dragon, she set in to pursue, moving from shadow to shadow until she reached his, but too weak to kill the human she waited for a more appropriate time.
