1 Chapter 1: The Wolf in Ruins

A young man wanders through the desert covered buildings, howling could be heard not too far from him.

"Ugh... He still hasn't called them off?"

He rushed into the closest building and ran deep inside. The howling growing closer and closer. Three of the hounds turned the corner slowly, sniffing and looking around inside. He could hear them around the corner with their low grows.

"All right i know you guys found me..."

The turn to him just in time for him to jump in and slice them with his full grown claws.

"Gods, I hate using those..."

He watches as their bodies slowly turned to dust and blew away, confirming his fears. Shaking his head and turning around, he rushes to the next room and jumps out of the window of the floor he was on and slides down the sand dune below him. The young man stands up and dusts himself off just in time to hear more growling. When he looks up he sees ten more hounds as well as a black figure.

"Father has been looking for you for several months now, Fin..."

Fin replies "Yeah after the whole, World ending situation, I've kinda been wanting to avoid seeing your Father."

The figure smirks "It has been a while since I've seen your true form Fin. Or may I call you Fenrir"

He snaps "Never call me that... I... I hate that name..."

"Then how would you feel if I told you there are new Gods rising after this chaos, and my Father might have found a way to undo this mess?"

Fin thinks for a moment before taking up the offer "Fine. Just never call me that name again."

He nods and the hounds relax then slowly turn to sand. He steps forward and reveals himself to Fin

"Should've known it was you... Anubis. You and your Father both are keen on canines.."

Anubis chuckled and looked down at him "That is another thing we must discuss. But not here" He lifts his hand and opens a door like portal in front of them "We are being watched as we speak. Shall we take this conversation to my Father?"

"Honestly, I never thought I would see his face again for another year... Let's go see him."

Three Hundred Years Ago:

A thick fog had rolled down the mountains of an unknown region. "Father, do you think he will show himself?"

"Oh he will. He is already here" He says as a thunderous howl is heard in the direction of the fog. The fog got closer and closer until it stopped just before the two Gods. "Fenrir! I have a proposition for you! If you are willing you will no longer have to hide in these mountains!"

"I have lived in these mountains for thousands of years and you, of all Gods, come to me offering freedom..." A giant wolf head peeks through the fog and glares at him. "I have hungered for so long... I might just eat you."

"You may eat as much as you wish if you accept my offer. My name is Set and this is my son Anubis. Will you accept?"

"Will you give me what I want in return?"

"I might just be able to. You look for a meal, it comes with the job."

Fenrir took his gaze away from Set and looked at the sky for a moment. The sky turned dark and covered with clouds "I accept... On one condition"

Present Day:

The two walked through the portal to the other side and into an empty throne room

"Wow, just the way I left it. You guys couldn't have, you know, decorated?" Fin asks.

"What would be the point to decorations? It's only father and myself. Mostly Father since I now have to take care of the world of the Dead." They make their way towards the throne when a small vortex of sand begins to swirl around it.

"Ah. I must take my leave now Fin. It was nice to see you again."

Before Fin could say anything, Anubis was already gone.

"Fenrir! You finally made it back!" The dark, Jackal headed man began to make his way through the vortex, causing it to disperse. "Oh wait. I heard you go by Fin now. My apologies."

"Set, just get to the point. What did Anubis mean by you may have a way to undo this?"

Set frowns and scratches his head. "I also assume he told you about the new gods as well?"

"Yes. Did your chaos also bring about a new batch of Gods?"

"You mean Your chaos? You are the one who brought Ragnarok to the World. Even Aphophis was pissed off about that one. I still keep hearing that damn snake complain."

Fin looked at Set, his eye brow angled at him.

"Anyway, Yes. There are now 6 new Gods. Your father and Uncle were both killed by them already."

At mention of his father and uncle he looked back at Set, "What of my Grandfather? Have they gotten to Odin?"

Set shakes his head. "I have not heard of such name. If you wish to undo these deaths, then you must hear my plan."

Fin sits down, shaken by the thought of his family being killed by these new gods. The image of his dead sister and brother flickered through his thoughts. "Fine. What do I need to do?"

"Have you ever heard of the God, Hermes?"

"The God I ran over by after I got this form? Sure... Wait... Don't tell me... You're going to send me to him for something stupid aren't you?"

Set sits down on his throne and crosses his leg. "Perhaps. But I have heard he might know how to go back in time. Or maybe I misheard that and its he knows someone who can..."

Fin paces for a moment "Set can I ask you something....." he says but is rudely interrupted by the Pyramid shaking underneath them.

Set rushes to his feet "Your question can wait for the next time we meet, whether it be this version or me from the past. For now I need to get you on your way. Anubis!"

A portal opens in front of them. "Anubis will lead you to him. And here, I think you might need this until then." He hands him a Khopesh. "Until you are given what is rightfully yours, use this. It'll be better than your claws. Trust me." He pushes him into the portal in time for a couple unfamiliar voices to be heard in the background.

"Set! Do you know what you have done! You gave us the opportunity to gain these powers and now you want to take them away!"

"I made my mistake when I didn't listen to my Brother..." The portal then shut in front of Fin.

"Will your father be all right? I assume those were two of the six?"

Anubis looks down at the ground for a moment. "He made his choice. I would stay with him and help him but I must guide you." The two began to walk when Fin stopped and realized where they were.

"We're in the Underworld aren't we...."

"Not my Underworld. But yes. There is someone you must meet who can help you on your journey. Someone you will get along well with." He smiled and continued to walk.
