59 Werewolf Pit

Dakota and I dug our paws into the lichen, pouring on the speed, trying to get to get back to the pack in time. A moment later, we jumped into the clearing, but there was only one werewolf. Mark and Austin took it down with ease, ripping off its head. Immediately, it turned back into a man.

"Well, either the werewolves are staying away because there's no blood here, or they're elsewhere," Mark said in the Pack Mind, wiping the blood off his paws. "Lexie, Micah, go search the perimeter. If you see anything, call for help. Don't take them on alone... and stick together!"

"Got it!" both Lexie and Micah said at the same time.

"Hey, Dakota?" I asked, getting his attention.

His head snapped up.

"When and if the next werewolf comes through, you want to try our plan?" I asked, eager to test the theory. Also, I didn't want to have to kill any more werewolves than necessary.

"Yeah, but unless we have a cure, the werewolves will tear each other apart in the hole." Dakota replied.
