226 Uncertainty

We arrived at my house a few minutes later and this time, Dakota came in with me. As soon as we were inside, his lips descended upon mine as he pulled me to his chest, causing my heart to pound. I pulled back a moment later, but his lips traveled down to my neck to give me a moment to breathe, and then went back up to my lips, causing my head to swim. Then he lifted me easily into his arms, carried me upstairs, and laid me on my bed, never breaking the kiss. When he laid on top of me, I realized what was happening. 

"Dakota, what are you doing?" I asked, pulling back. 

He let out a deep breath. "I thought that maybe we shouldn't wait after all."

I let out a deep breath and then sat up on the edge of my bed to clear my head. Not trusting myself, I stood and crossed the room, folding my arms across my chest to keep from reaching out to him. When I was ready, I turned to face him. "Dakota, is this sudden change of heart about Michael?"
