257 The Quiet Before the Storm

The rest of the week went as planned and I tried to get caught up on as much of my missing schoolwork as I could either at home, or up at the hospital. Soon, I fell into a routine of going to school, and then heading up to the hospital to see Dakota, talk to Noah about his condition, and then I'd settle in to do my homework.

Luckily, the Dark Rider hadn't shown himself since the last time, and Micah came back to school when he heard what had happened. Also, Michael had mentioned that he was going to be a teacher at my school. But so far, he hadn't.

Before I knew it, it was Friday night, the first night of the full moon. 

"Dakota, we're going to try and save you," I whispered, just inches from his mouth so the nurses couldn't hear. "So, be ready. I'm coming for you." I gently kissed his cheek. Then I turned to Noah and said in a low voice, "We're going to fight the Dark Rider tonight. So please stay with Dakota, just in case."
