When we arrived at school, Dakota pulled into the first parking spot he saw. "Ready?" he asked, literally beaming. It appeared that he was just as excited to tell everyone as I was.

I nodded. "As ready as I'll ever be." I waited until the car was stopped, and then quickly got out and held his hand.

"Well, someone's in a hurry to get to school today," Dakota teased, sliding his arm around my shoulders.

I chuckled, smiling as I looked up into his eyes. "Maybe just a little. But it looks like you're pretty excited, too."

"Why wouldn't I be?" He pulled me to the side of the building and stood me against the wall, looking into my eyes as my heart pounded. "I'm, going to be pledged to the most beautiful girl in the world." Then he placed his hands on the building on either side of my head and his lips descended upon mine in a not-so-chaste kiss.
