27 Quiet Before the Storm, Part 2

I had already changed into some jean shorts and a half-crop T-shirt. It was funny, but since I became a wolf-shifter, I was hot most of the time. My body temperature seemed to run hotter than it did before, which meant that I didn't get hot easily. I had a feeling that I'd be comfortable in a snowstorm.

"You might want to bring an extra change of clothes to keep in the car, just in case." I shrugged. "You never know if you might need it."

She forced a smile as she nodded and then shoved another change of clothes into her purse. "Ready?"

I nodded. "Michelle, one way or another, I will find a cure... I promise."

Michelle nodded, smiling. "Jess, don't make promises you can't keep. But remember what I said, if it comes down to me killing someone, you know what to do."

I let out a deep breath. "Michelle, I will not kill you."

"Jess, you might have to... please."
