32 Promise of More Tomorrows

Going up the stairs, Dakota slowed when we turned the corner, approaching the third floor. When we reached the landing, the door was open to what looked to be the only room. When we walked in, I was right. One huge room stretched from one side of the house to the other. There was one king-sized bed in the center, and a fireplace to the right with a soft Indian woven rug stretched across the floor before it.

"This is my room," Dakota said as we walked in.

I enjoyed the traditional American Indian artifacts intermingled with modern decorations. A stereo set on a table to the right. To the left set a small round table with four wooden chairs. The room looked like a man cave, but with elegant, rustic furnishings.

"This is gorgeous." I walked along the far wall to the left to a shelf with an old American Indian doll, a tambourine, and more American Indian artifacts.
