248 Pray for a Miracle, Part 1

Although it was Monday, I woke the next morning, showered and dressed, then headed straight downstairs, planning to spend the day at the hospital.

Dad was waiting for me in the kitchen, sitting at the table and held up his coffee cup. "There's coffee, if you'd like some."

"Thanks, Dad." I poured myself a cup and then sat with him at the table. "Are you hungry? I could make you an omelet."

He raised an eyebrow, taking me in. "So, you're not going to school today? You only have a few more weeks left to go before you're out for the summer."

I sighed and then took a sip of my coffee. "I know, but I just got home, and I want to go to the hospital to see Dakota today."

Dad nodded, folding his paper and setting it aside. "Okay. You can take off today, but I want you back in school either tomorrow or Wednesday. Got it?"

I nodded.
