When Dakota and I got to school the next morning, Michelle was waiting for me outside class.

I looked back and forth to make sure no one was listening. "So, did the spell on your mom work?"

Her eyes widened dramatically, nearly bugging out of her head. "I'd say! But my mom is like a Stepford Wife now! She didn't say a word about me sneaking out when I came walking through the door. She just said hello and asked me if I was hungry!"

I tilted my head to the side. "Well, isn't that a good thing?"

Michelle shrugged. "Kind of... but it's kind of scary, too. Now I'm wishing I would have told Mom the truth." She sighed. "I wonder if Tiara can reverse the spell. Then I'll just talk to Mom and tell her the truth."

I shrugged. "I'm not sure if she can. But we can talk to her and see." I slid my arm around her shoulder. "Come on. Let's go to class."

Mr. Wilson nodded once when we walked in, making eye contact with us, and then went back to preparing for his lesson.
