212 Pack Meeting

As soon as we finished dinner, Dakota and I quickly did the dishes while Dad put away the leftover food. Then we all got ready to go, piled into Dad's truck, and arrived at the cabin a few minutes later.

Faith was waiting for us out front. "Well, it's about time you got here."

I chuckled. "Now you sound like Michelle."

"Come on." Faith laughed. "Nearly everyone is here."

I nodded. "Did you bring the scanner?"

She pulled out a handheld device that looked like a gray box with a handle that resembled a gun. "This is how it works." She held down the trigger and a blue light radiated from the box. She ran it over my hand and then it beeped. She held it up to me and it said my name.

"Cool!" I said, taking a closer look. "Do you have any others?"

"No, but Star has another," Faith replied. 

"Is she here?"

She nodded. "Yes. She and the rest of the team arrived yesterday."
