196 Love and War

That night, Dakota and I journeyed up the mountain, headed toward the hidden Circle of Serenity Coven. Although it was dark out, we didn't seem to have a problem with the narrow road, leading up the steep incline. When we got to the top, Dakota parked his truck where we had parked it the last time and turned off the headlights. Then we stepped up to the edge of the clearing and waited. Soon, Auria appeared, as if walking out from under an invisible veil, and smiled. 

"Jessica, Dakota...." She reached over and kissed my cheek. "What brings you here, especially so late?"

"I'm sorry we're coming after dark, but it couldn't wait." I went on to tell her about Julien and our plan to attack the cult before they have a chance to attack us. The whole time, Auria listened attentively. 

"I see," she replied, looking into my eyes. "I hope it doesn't come to it, but if an attack is inevitable, then we will stand with you."
