Dakota and I rode went over to Raina's house to check on her later that night. When I knocked, Raina opened the door and walked outside, folding her arms across her chest. "Why didn't you agree to take down Cathy right away?" Tears coursed down her cheeks. "Now my uncle's dead!"

"Raina, the pack is sworn to protect the innocent." I moved closer to her, but she backed away. 

"How is she innocent?" Raina asked. "She's the one killing people!"

I sighed, keeping my distance. "Her husband abused her... brutally. Crystal found her and Cathy didn't know what was happening at first. But then she went along with it because she wanted to be strong... strong enough to protect herself." I bit my lower lip and then released it. "She didn't know she was a werewolf until the next time her husband came after her."

Raina smirked, her arms still folded across her chest. "And what happened to him?"
