119 Hunch, Part 1

The next morning, I woke, and it was extremely bright outside. Too bright to have been sunshine. It was the kind of bright that only came from a massive snowfall. With everything that was happening, it seemed strange that it was the first official day of Christmas Break. 

When I sat up, Dakota was already gone, probably having left before my father got up. But there was a note on the pillow beside me that read: 

Jess, don't go to see Cathy without me. Love, D.

Dakota knew me well. But he was right. It would be a good idea to take someone with me. Going to see a suspected serial killer alone was not smart.

So, I jumped out of bed, hurried to take a shower, and then dressed in a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, then threw on my black leather jacket and a pair of boots, and headed downstairs.
