117 Guilt and Innocence

I ran after it into the woods, my paws digging into the snow and lichen as Dakota ran beside me.

"Mark!" Dakota yelled in the Pack Mind. "There was another murder!"

"Where?" I could hear the sound of his footfalls in the background of the Pack Mind, picking up speed. 

"Behind the diner! In the clearing!" Dakota yelled.

"We have the werewolf in our sites!" I said, running after it at full speed. 

Mark nodded in his mind. "I'm on my way... and don't fall for any of its tricks this time."

I mentally rolled my eyes, knowing I wasn't going to live that one down for a while. "I'll try not to," I said flatly.

"Hey, Jess," Mark said, pushing harder toward us. "Does it look like the same one that attacked you earlier?"

I nodded mentally. "Exactly the same." Then I thought of something. "Have there been any werewolf sightings at the cabin tonight?"

Mark shook his head. "Not one."
