166 Discretion is the Better Part of Valor

"Star, let's get out of here," Verus said, eyeing the creatures staring at us. We were outnumbered… by a lot.

Abigail shook her head. "Too late for that."

Then Zisaria turned to the hellhounds. "Seize them!" They growled and leapt toward us as Verus and Zy punched their heads. Then other hellhounds leapt onto the stage, morphing into human men as they marched toward us, their eyes glowing red.

I held my hand up and pushed against the air. Suddenly, a blue ray of light radiated from my hand and the hellhound-shifters flew backward off the stage. "Don't let her shift!" I yelled, speaking of Zisaria, holding up my other hand.

Zisaria's body started shifting and changing, morphing, and growing, but I hit her with a blue bolt of light sending her flying backward off the stage.
