139 Crunch Time

"How's she doing?" Mark asked about Cathy when he arrived a few hours later. 

I shrugged. "We gave her the ultimatum: Either take the cure or we'll take her down."

Mark nodded. "What did she say?"

"She said she'd rather die than take the cure," I replied. "But Mark, I understand why she did it. Her first husband abused her brutally, and she felt that killing him was her only way out. But actually, Crystal was the one who introduced her to the Devil, and then Cathy turned. Although she felt stronger, she had no idea that she would turn into a werewolf... until she saw her husband."

Mark tilted his head to the side. "Yeah, but now she knows... and she has a choice." He sighed. "Now it's up to her to make it."

"Stop talking about me as if I'm not here!" Cathy yelled from the other side of the cell. "How long do you intend to keep me locked up in here?"

Dakota shrugged. "For as long as it takes to convince you to take the cure."
