69 Conjuring

Tiara met me in the hallway outside of Mr. Wilson's class carrying a pestle and mortar, her backpack slung over her shoulder. I told Dakota where I was and what was going on so I wouldn't worry.

I looked down at it and raised an eyebrow. "Is that what I think it is?"

Tiara nodded. "If you think that it's a pestle and mortar, then you're right."

"Are you ready for this?"

Tiara shrugged. "As ready as I'll ever be." Then she pushed the door open to his classroom.

Inside, Mr. Wilson was waiting. "Good afternoon, ladies."

"Hello," Tiara said, looking around. "Where can I set up?"

He motioned with his head over to the table. "I guess here will be as good a place as any."

I motioned toward the door. "I think we'd better lock it, just in case someone comes in."

He nodded and locked the door, and then looked over his shoulder at Tiara. "Have you done many spells at all?"
