"Jessica! Listen to reason!" Dakota yelled after me, trying to keep up. He grabbed my arm and turned me around. "Cathy and Crystal have tricked us before! What makes you think this time is any different?"

"Because I have to believe that people can choose to do what is right and mean it!" I wheeled on him. "Yes, we have no reason to trust either of them, but we have to! And we have to take down this cult before they bring back the Devil! If he comes to Earth in the flesh, then we're all doomed. It'll be the Apocalypse, and I can't let that happen."

Dakota stared into my eyes, pursing his lips together, and then nodded once. "Okay. But if we do this, we must have a plan. We can't go in there half-cocked."

I nodded. "Okay. We'll make a plan." I sighed. "But first, I need to talk to my dad. He has to be down with this. Otherwise, Cathy and Crystal will run, and we won't have this opportunity again."
