34 Aunt Trudy

We pulled up in front of Raina's Uncle Carl and Aunt Trudy's house a few hours later. I hated to have to leave Michelle, but Micah was going to stay there in his wolf form. If things got out of hand, he could call us easily and we could be there soon.

"Are you sure your uncle won't mind us coming over like this?" I asked Raina. Even though Raina said that he had agreed, it was still an inconvenience.

She smiled as she knocked on the door. "Not at all. Since my Aunt Trudy died, Uncle Carl doesn't get as many visitors." She shrugged, lowering her voice. "I try to come over as much as I can, but it's not the same."

I nodded, wondering what happened to the snarky girl that I'd always known. Raina was smiling and actually being nice. "We'll come over and visit, too. We really appreciated this."

Michelle nodded. "Yes. Not a lot of people would do this for a complete stranger."
