"So, are you going to the dance?" Michelle asked Tiara, clearly excited, eyeing Austin and Eric.

"Hey!" Eric said. "Want to go with me?"

"No, go with me!" Austin responded.

Tiara stood, picking up her tray. "Jessica, maybe this was a bad idea. But thanks for inviting me over."

"No, don't go," I replied. "Sorry they're being idiots."

"Hey!" both Eric and Austin said at the same time.

I ignored them. "We're just a part of the same pack... I mean... tribe is all."

Tiara's eyebrows rose nearly into her hairline. "Michelle, too?"

Micah slid an arm around her shoulders. "We made her an honorary member."

"And we can make you an honorary member, too," Austin said, giving her a wink.

Michelle swatted Austin on the arm. "Stop it! You're freaking her out!"

"I'd better go," Tiara quickly rose from her seat. "I'll see you tomorrow." Then she hurried off before anyone could say anything more, quickly dumped her tray, and headed out the door.
