it was 4:30 am Dan was sitting at a computer, witch illuminated the dark room with a blueish hue playing fallout new Vegas , he had bought it a month ago when his friend wouldn't stop telling him to play It.so one day he got sick of it and bought it he immediately fell in love with the game he was already finishing his fifth playthrough. he was about to throw the NCR general off the hoover damn when he got a splitting headache and in a few minutes everything turned black

a few minutes passed then hours, dan was confused at first but now he was just agitated. it didn't feel like he was floating or anything it felt like he was standing in place with his eyes closed.

after a while a big green outline of a square appeared and displayed a text reading no staff available in the area beging automated Instructional video then music started playing and and a video had begun running

"welcome and we are thankful you have joined the vault tech family here at vault 23 where WE make YOU better"

"what the hell?" asked Dan very confused

"there's no staff present meaning something

terrible happened or they all left so there's no need for us to sugarcoat this if you remembered we told you before the bombs dropped. you and 5 others whould be put in cryo pods to wait out the all the chaos out there but what we didn't tell you we gave you dozens of invasive surgeries, to give you implants that make you BETTER"

while all of this was happening Dan was frozen speechless

then suddenly the outline disappeared and Dan woke up in a pod on top of witch was a advanced auto doc.

Dan pressed on the top of the pod and got out looking at his hand and feet they really were made of metal but it didn't feel like it but a few knocks on them proved to be metal

Dan was abruptly stopped everything went black and white and all sound stopped and an interface appeared

then a trait menu appeared but there were two new traits that he had never seen before like :

due to implants making your veins metallic poisons can't kill you but chems wear off twice as fast

dan after thinking for a bit decide on taking iron veins and trigger discipline he pressed done and the world returned to color and sound and the special menu disappeared

he looked at his vault jumpsuit it read vault 23 but there was no vault like that after a bit of thinking about it he started to play around with the menu flicking through all of it's pip boy features
