65 Admission Done

Ling Hongchen hadn't truly forgotten his true purpose. After the meal, he guided the three of them through the enrollment procedures. Given that the dean personally escorted them, the staff efficiently handled processes like data entry and ID card production within a few minutes.

Exiting the Student Status Management Office, Ling Hongchen, as previously arranged, led them on a academy tour. The focus was on acquainting Anping and Gu Yuena with various building facilities, ensuring they wouldn't waste time navigating the campus during the upcoming school term. Ling Hongchen concluded the extensive tour by evening.

They eventually reached a villa area where Ling Hongchen, leading the group into a small courtyard, remarked, "I promised you a tranquil living space, and this will be your residence from now on. Are you satisfied?"

This villa area catered to teachers and core students of Sun Moon academy. Typically, teachers had individual villas, while students shared among four in each villa.

Preferring a serene living environment, Anping had hoped for no roommates, so Ling Hongchen instructed his subordinates accordingly.

Anping expressed satisfaction, saying, "Thank you, Dean Hongchen. I'm very pleased."

"As long as you're satisfied, you're officially Sun Moon academy students. It's late; let's have dinner first," Ling Hongchen said, a soft smile gracing his face.

Ling Hongchen remained highly content with the two students, noting their superior talents compared to Sun Moon Academy's students. Their status in the Spirit Pagoda aside, their abilities surpassed even those in Shrek Academy. Particularly, Anping's soul tools talent surprised Ling Hongchen, who, initially skeptical, would have considered accepting him as a disciple if not for already being Leng Yaozhu's student.

Following dinner, Leng Yaozhu prepared to return to the Spirit Pagoda headquarters, having come to Mingdu for her apprentices' admission.

At the Sun and Moon academy gate, Leng Yaozhu looked at her two apprentices, smiling as she said, "If anyone harasses them in the academy, inform me."

Ling Hongchen assured, "Don't worry, Your Majesty Heavenly Phoenix. I'll ensure their safety from bullying. Let's all head back." With that, Leng Yaozhu waved to Anping and Gu Yuena, entered the car, and departed.

Early the next morning, Gu Yuena knocked on Anping's door. As he opened it, she preempted his questions, "They say this is the most modern city on the continent. It's my first time here. Hurry, change, and let's go for a walk."

"Sure, just a moment." Anping changed out of his pajamas and joined Gu Yuena outside.

Little did Anping expect that this was merely the beginning.

From that day until the day before academy started, Gu Yuena seemed tireless, taking Anping shopping every morning. In over ten days, they explored almost the entire Mingdu city.

Anping couldn't help but acknowledge that, in any world, women had an inherent talent for shopping. Finally, as academy approached, Anping felt liberated.

Observing Anping's relieved expression, Gu Yuena teased, "Why the face? Did shopping with me make you miserable? You get a share of everything I bought."

Anping retorted, "Shopping again? Isn't exploring the city enough? We've been at it for more than ten days."

"Alright, don't be mad. It's my first time in Mingdu, so I'm curious," Gu Yuena said, coaxing, and playfully touched Anping's head.

"It's the opening ceremony. Can't you see people staring?" Anping said, swatting away Gu Yuena's playful hand in disdain.

Gu Yuena looked around, noticed the attention, and quickly sat down.

The opening ceremony, held in a spacious auditorium, mirrored those of other colleges. Academy leaders took turns speaking about history, future prospects, and ended with encouragement for the students. The ceremony lasted nearly three hours before concluding.

On their way back to the dormitory, Anping observed Gu Yuena's pensive expression and inquired, "What's on your mind?"

"Is there a feud between Shrek academy and Sun Moon academy? I noticed speakers at the ceremony mentioning Shrek academy again and again," Gu Yuena questioned, expressing her suspicions.

Anping explained, "You're onto something. The animosity between Shrek academy and Sun Moon academy traces back over ten thousand years."

Gu Yuena pressed, "Tell me about it."

"Sixteen thousand years ago, the Sun and Moon Continent collided with the Douluo Continent," Anping began. Seeing Gu Yuena nod, he continued, "Empires on both continents sought annexation, and being on different continents, Sun Moon academy and Shrek Academy naturally developed a hostile relationship."

Gu Yuena queried, "Hostile? Doesn't Shrek Academy claim neutrality?"

Anping shook his head, "You mentioned it yourself; there's no absolute neutrality. Originating in the Douluo Continent, Shrek Academy is inherently biased. If it were truly neutral, the Sun and Moon Empire would have united the continents thousands of years ago."

"So, the relationship between Sun Moon academy and Shrek Academy wasn't favorable. It's said that students from both academy often got injured or killed in competitions back then. Moreover, Sun Moon academy faced near destruction later on, further worsening its ties with Shrek academy. The academy's fate and its relationship with Shrek Academy became more strained."

"Ah, I see. So, encountering Shrek in the future should be cautious." Gu Yuena paused before continuing, "By the way, Master is also from Shrek Academy. Didn't Dean Ling Hongchen initially agree to our admission?"

Anping shook his head, "Despite Master being from Shrek Academy, her more crucial role is as the deputy tower master of Spirit Pagoda. No matter how much Sun Moon academy dislikes Shrek Academy, it won't sever ties with Spirit Pagoda. Getting through the Spirit Pagoda won't be easy."

"True, no use dwelling on it now. No classes today, so how about we go shopping?" Gu Yuena couldn't help but laugh at the mention of shopping.

Seeing Anping getting nervous about shopping, Gu Yuena reassured him, "Alright, don't be tense. It's just a joke. Let's grab some groceries; I don't feel like going to the cafeteria today."

Anping whispered, "It's not just shopping."

Gu Yuena, being so close, heard it clearly. She rolled her eyes at Anping and pulled him towards the supermarket.
