1 Chapter 1

Ah, what a time to relax at the beach. I finally finished all my exams and all my schoolwork and I finally, FINALLY get to dip myself in the cold seawater.

Well, that's what I thought would happen but my alarm had to ruin it all.

Oh, to those of you who don't know. I am Meldian, a typical high school student waiting for a time to graduate from high school. I kinda got tired of doing the same old routine and I found myself wanting to take a break right before I go to college. Though it may seem quite off, I wanted to look for a job at the very least.

My mom would always nag at me if I do anything against the things she likes. Well, anything I do is practically what she dislikes. Except for studying and other extracurricular activities, obviously.

Anyways, moving on to what happened. I had a faint memory of what happened last night. I think I was gaming until I realized that dawn was already breaking. My head got fuzzy at that time but I disregarded that fact. Even though I typically game for more than half a day during the weekends, I still don't neglect my schoolwork. You see, life's difficult when you want to take business administration for college since your parents run a business. Keep the business going, I suppose.

All I wanted to do was just to take a breather from all the activities that my different teachers have been giving. I just wanted to relax and head to the beach, just like what happened in my dream. But noOooOo, my teachers had to bombard us with loads of activities to do during the long weekend that we have. Never in my life have I been so frustrated with my group that I was technically given all the work since our group leader was at that emo phase. What a dweeb.

Anyways, just wanted to vent that out. It's almost the end of the semester and there I was, procrastinating like there's nothing left to do. I mean, there's technically nothing left to do aside from tidying up the essay I made the other night.

Now the weirdest thing came up all of a sudden. When I was trying to log-in to my account, a weird message popped up saying that, "I was chosen."

Chosen to do what? The chores? The laundry? I had no idea what was going on so I just turned my PC off and switched to my phone. I used Google Docs, by the way.

Now, as I was trying to open the app, the same message popped up on the screen. I was starting to feel panic but I remembered that it could've been spam messages. So, I asked my dad if I could use his phone to check on something. The message didn't show up, which was a good thing. So I thought.

As I was using the app, the same words started to repeat. by repeat, I mean it started to copy and paste the same exact words over and over. I immediately closed the app and thought to myself, "This prank has to end."

I went outside to take a walk, only to realize that it was about to rain. I didn't mind if it would rain or not since I practically got used to being rained upon. I went for a stroll in the nearby park since walking is some sort of a way for me to relieve my stress and tension. The scenery in the park reminded me of how movies depict parks: a park with a fountain and some benches to sit on, a park filled with people chit-chatting and taking their sweet time in the park, and most importantly a park with my childhood crush. What a park this is, huh.

Now, when I took a walk, I was trying not to rush it since it would mean that I was trying to relieve my stress. I didn't want others to know that since it would be quite troublesome. On a side note, the people living in the vicinity would start to worry if they see someone not in the mood. I didn't want any of that. I only wanted my crush to take notice of it.

Now there I walked, slowly but surely towards my crush when all of a sudden the rain started to pour on me. I cursed under my breath but started to notice something odd: why aren't the others starting to head back home? Is it really not raining? Why aren't they wet?

Then lightning and thunder came right after so I hurried home. As I was heading home, there was a peculiar object on the side of the street. I picked it up and took a good look at it. It didn't seem anything THAT out of the ordinary. I took it home with me and thought of placing it with the other "junk" I had.

Although they were "junk", some of them resemble something to me that made me want to keep them. Now, the fun part begins.

As I was nearing my place, the strangest noise came from behind me. I took a peek and there was someone running in my direction. He ran so fast that it reminded me of Usain Bolt. Weird since there shouldn't be someone as fast as him except for the other Olympic runners.

Taking a closer look, that "person" was no person. It had the body and head of a human but its arms were that of a wolf and its legs were that of a deer, I suppose. As the thing was approaching me, I started to run and noticed something weird. All the buildings around me started to blur. Was I starting to lose it or something? Then I looked behind and saw that the thing was gone. I looked back and saw the thing ahead of me. Strange but eh. I looked back once again and saw what made the thing run as fast as possible.

Another thing was chasing it. It had a body of a cheetah and the head of a horse. Of all things, why a horse? Anyway, I started to run for it and not to look back. Something tugged my back so I looked at it and it was the other thing that chased the first thing. Confusing but please bear with me.

It seemed that it wanted me to do something to it but I didn't know what. I just carried it and started to chase the first thing. Fortunately, I saw it within running distance but the first thing seemed to go faster after seeing me carrying the second thing. I didn't know what was happening so I threw the second thing as far as I can and for some odd reason, it had wings.

The first thing started to run even faster but ended up getting hit by a tree. He abruptly stopped for a bit and realized that the second thing was just behind him. I called for him, he tried to run, and was stopped by the second thing. I wanted to thank the second thing for stopping the first thing but all of a sudden the first thing thrusts his sword at the second thing. The second thing dodged the attack. The first thing vigorously attacked without stopping until he grew tired. The second thing was about to attack the first thing but there was a sudden streak of light that shined so bright that I also got blinded. The second thing vanished.

I approached the first thing, wanting to get an explanation out of him on what's happening but he continued running. I wanted to chase him but until then did I realize that I was chained to a tree. The bindings were no ordinary binds. It looked scorching hot but for some reason, didn't end up hurting my ankles. I scanned the area but no one was there.

"Do you have any idea what you just did?" a voice suddenly spoke. I turned around trying to get a glimpse of who spoke but no one was there.

"I said, do you have any idea on what you just did?" the voice sounded angry and really was angry. The voice suddenly attacked me in the side and was trying to tell me something, "Don't ever do that again if you don't want to get hurt."

Then after the voice slowly vanished, I noticed that there weren't any chains on me so I dashed off to my place.

I wanted to know if it was still raining or not so I stopped by the nearest store at my place. I asked if it was raining and got a response saying that it wasn't. Weird. Very weird. I then rushed to my place and asked my dad the same thing and the response was the same. What is going on?

I decided to take a short nap and then I dozed off...

"Why did you let him go? You could've taken him as a hostage."

"I told you, he didn't know how this world works. Let's just let him be for a while and maybe by then he would know what is happening."

"Yeah, it could've gone worse. Anyways, send the other ones to go and find him."

The voices stopped and then looked towards me. I could see an arrow flyi-

I bolted up. I started to panic and immediately headed downstairs. I didn't want to think about what just happened so I let it be.

I wonder what that dream meant?
