5 Chapter 5; Taboo

Chapter 5

Felica didn't answer him, bewildered by what was happening. The grip on her hand tightened further making her wince out in pain. Sensing her discomfort Alexander let go of her hand. This was not what they had agreed on. In anger, he combed his hand through his hair, holding in it in a tight grip. If he had woken up even a single second later, he really would have mistaken Felicia for her. He clicked his tongue in utter annoyance.

Turning to face her he glowered towards her hatred seeping through. She could not understand what she had done so wrong. Was he mad because she had broken the rule of not coming near his room? If that was the case, she didn't mean to, she had only gotten worried.

"Answer me, what were you doing here?" he questioned venomously.

She couldn't help but let a shiver run down her spine. Yes, Alexander was a cold person from what she had deciphered thus far, but in this moment he looked murderous. Was what she had done actually something for him to get this upset about? She couldn't grasp it no matter how many times she asked herself.

"ANSWER ME!" he yelled making her flinch in her spot.

"Why are you so mad? I wouldn't have come in if you had simply answered when I called out your name from behind the door. I came to wake you up for breakfast." she said with a frown etching her face.

Alexander let out a breath of air closing his eyes, only to turn to her again.

"Listen here, this marriage is just for convenience. Do not get ahead of yourself. And follow the rules I have set. Don't get on my bad side. Do whatever it is you want to do for all I care, as long as it does not break the rules I had set." He said without a slight falter in his tone. He was warning her.

Felicia couldn't help but get a tad bit angry herself as she scoffed at his words annoyed. 'it's not like I wanted to marry you in the first place either.' She thought to herself. She had to ask. Who was the woman, he so desperately called for?

"Whose Natalia?" she interrogated.

The moment alexander froze for a second, trying to comprehend what she said. He couldn't believe the name that her mouth had uttered. alexanders eyes snapped towards her in a deadly glare.

"what?"

"I asked who Natalia is, you kept uttering, Natalia, Natalia, just who is-"

Before she could finish her sentence, Alexander had grabbed her by the collar, his eyes staring into hers. He turned furious. Felicia felt as though at any moment, he would burst into steam. Taken by surprise her eyes widened by his sudden action.

"What are you doing-,"

"Listen here and listen well-"

"Let go-,"

"-Do not EVER utter that name in front of me again. Am I clear?"

His grip tightened on her collar as they stared into each other's eyes, neither backing down from this ongoing war that had suddenly developed between them.

"Let go," Felicia said, trying to get out of his hold.

Frustrated, Alexander let go of her collar roughly, making her slip slightly, falling to her knees. Felicia looked up, glaring towards him. This was not how things were supposed to be. Why was he being so overbearing and domineering, just because she asked a question? Was this person taboo to bring up?

"Get out," Alexander said.

Felicia did not need him to repeat himself twice, she stood up making her way out of the bedroom, slamming the door behind. As soon as she walked out, she couldn't help but fall to her knees yet again. Her body trembled at the situation she had found herself in. she had never seen someone get angry as much as he did before. This man was hiding something and yet she couldn't get any answers from him. She heard him yell in frustration followed by with something shattering.

Alexander stood in the middle of the bedroom, his heart throbbing as his mind was overcome with anger. He could not believe he lost his temper in front of Felicia. That name had simply triggered him, making him completely forget what was happening. He sat on his bed, letting out a huff of air. He had been having nightmares that kept bringing up memories he would have rather forgotten.

'a little more and I would have forgotten her.' He thought to himself.

They had agreed yesterday that she would not go near the two rooms, yet here she was the first day after their wedding, already opposing him. Slight guilt overtook him, thinking of how he had treated her, but his arrogance soothed him, telling him, it was all her fault anyway. If only she had listened to him in the first place.

Felicia sat at the dining table on her own, her mind wandering, oblivious to what was going on around her. The maids and help continued as though what had transpired during the earlier morning was a usual occurrence. No one bothered or uncomfortable. Each minding their own business.

The amid that had helped instructed her this earlier, pouring a glass of water for her.

"thank you, umm… could I get your name?" Felicia asked with a smile.

"Its Bethany, madam." The maid replied.

Bethany huh…

Just as she was about to speak up, Bethany moved away, towards the wall with the jug.

"Good morning master." All the maids and help spoke out

Alexander made his way to the table, taking a seat. No one uttered a single word as breakfast progressed. Felicia merely poked at her food, glancing towards Alexander every once in a while. Alexander looked up, catching her eyes before she hurriedly looked away. He was not used to people gawking at him.

He had lived a secluded life until now, running the family company in the background. He was an anonymous CEO. That was what he was used to. Appearances meant nothing to him. Catching her sight again he let out a sigh until his eyes caught sight of something.

"wh-what is that?" he stuttered.

"…"

"did I, did I do that?"
