6 Hatchet! 2

“You're impossible. Turns out Mr Claret isn't so old as you thought him to be,"

"The old joe," She threw a chip at me. Catching it, I sink it deep into my throat making my stomach gurgle ferociously. The punishment had been extended to this morning meaning I wasn't allowed to have breakfast again.

"Easy you plum. Your stomach's been complaining so I really think you should eat something. Join me,"

"Nah... You eat. I'm not that hungry you know," I flashed my fakest smile. Shrugging disapprovingly, she drew the box closer to herself.

"Well guys guess what I got? A cool 7." Alan bubbled in enthusiasm as he noisily drew out a chair and sat his arse down.

"Yeah.. Yeah we know. You got... Wait what?" She snatched the sheet away rudely, her Hazel eyes roaming over the scratchy writing. "But that's impossible. Is it safe for me for me to say you both cheated?"

"But we weren't even sitting close to each other at the first place. And laying all my tangible trust on That snoop of a man Claret, I trust that you'd not have gotten more than a glance at my script at all," his face paled as he hastily excused himself, rushing out suspiciously. I glanced back just in time to see Merton making his way over with his clique of friends.

"Hi guys, mind if we join you today?" breathing in Lust And Sin, he dropped his tray on the lunch table, as his friends drew out chairs for themselves. My stomach gurgles even more at the sight of the ham, meatloaf and mango slices Merton's having for lunch.

"So what's up? " he casually draws his tray closer to himself and sensually takes a bite of his mango slice. I give Lisa a pained look as she unevenly blushes shamelessly. Ha, who wouldn't.

The whole members of the football team were comfortably seated at our table. I still couldn't speak. And surely Lisa had obviously gone into no-talk-mode so while they discuss a bit on sports, I didn't say anything. Just chipped in a word or two of the little I did know.

"Dude I can't eat all these," Merton painfully surrendered, his plate still half-filled. His fellow jocks laugh at his full cheeks and wet eyes which I really found cute.

"Toss it over" one said, digging a fork on a slice. I unintentionally whimper on my seat. The tempting food was just too much.

"Yeah give it over," they rose chanting and getting their forks ready to dig in. The cafeteria was in total chaos now and with just an angry glare from Merton, they all turn into quiet lambs.

"The foods not for you," he eyed them slowly. They all sit and sulk like mama's babies.

"Then who's it for?" Ethan asked. Lisa who'd been watching this particular scene in prospect had her cheeks ablaze. She lived next to Ethan and had surreptitiously found him sexy.

"Him," Merton points at me without missing a beat. I pale instantly as all eyes shot at me. "Your stomach's been gurgling since we got here and you didn't bring lunch" his icy blue eyes softened at me. I felt self-conscious at once wishing I could just disappear.

"But... I'm not that hungry.. "

" Yes you'd say that" he cuts me off dragging the tray closer. "You're sixteen and can perfectly take good care of yourself. But you need to eat,"

A smile tugged at the corner of my lips. "Thanks but I'm not sixteen,"

"Seriously how old are you?" Siegfried inquired. I swallowed a lump and timidly muttered. "Sixteen and a half,"

"Half is not a number."

"I'll be seventeen this fall,"

"Whatever, you're eating and I'm gonna feed you." he takes out a meatloaf. I felt my face flush in embarrassment.

"I can feed myself." I politely push his hand away.

"No," his eyes became threatening. Somehow my mouth was shut. He thrusted the loaf closer to my partially opened mouth and just then...

"What's going on here? " We all look up at the terrifying figure of David who stood with arms folded staring at Merton with murder in his eyes.
